Amy Halterman & Tammy Slaton Snub Mom On Mother’s Day

Tammy Slaton from TLC

Mother’s Day is typically a time to celebrate — but not for everyone. For some, the holiday can be a painful reminder for a wide variety of reasons. Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman said repeatedly on the show they sometimes have a strained relationship with their mother. Their mother Darlene does appear on 1000-Lb. Sisters from time to time, but she’s not very sentimental or affectionate with any of her children.

Is there a reason that neither Amy Halterman nor Tammy Slaton gave Darlene a shoutout on Mother’s Day?

Did Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman intentionally snub their mother?

Tammy Slaton definitely isn’t dead — but she hasn’t been active on social media for quite some time. According to her younger sister Amy, Tammy got locked out of her social media accounts and banned from TikTok. So that explains her social media silence.

However, Amy Halterman regularly uses social media and had every opportunity in the world to give Darlene a shoutout during the holiday. So why didn’t she?

Fans know that Amy was online today because she posted a photo of Gage and gave a very generic “Happy Mother’s Day” shoutout to everyone.

It’s possible that both Tammy and Amy just wished Darlene a happy mother’s day in private. As fans saw on the show, Darlene isn’t exactly a touchy-feely mother, so she might be uncomfortable with public displays of affection like an Instagram shoutout.

Do you think that Tammy and Amy intentionally snubbed their mom? Be sure to leave your ideas in the comments.

Amy carries on with Mother’s Day celebrations

Fans can’t be sure what Tammy Slaton is doing with her day, but Amy Halterman seems to really be enjoying the holiday. She’s spending time cuddling with Gage and expecting her second son in just a few months.

On social media, Amy has revealed that she and her husband Michael have chosen a name, but will keep it secret until she gives birth. She also revealed that her due date is in mid-July, but she scheduled a C-section for July 5. That means fans will get to know more about the little bundle of joy before the summer is over.

Next Mother’s Day, Amy Halterman will have one more reason to celebrate. Maybe next year, she and her sister Tammy will feel like sharing a shoutout to their own mother. For now, fans will just have to stay tuned and see what the sisters do next.
