Vanderpump Rules fans are concerned that James Kennedy is drinking again. For the past few months, rumors swirled that he was back on the bottle. Now, there’s video evidence that he’s not living a sober life.

Over two years ago, James quit drinking alcohol, which has been an ongoing storyline on the Bravo series. During Season 9 of Pump Rules, the DJ admitted his addiction to smoking marijuana. During the reunion special, James confirmed that he didn’t stop smoking.

He explained that he was “Calfornia sober.” This approach in recovery usually includes drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana in moderation, per Healthline. At the time, James said he only smoked marijuana.

How the non-sober rumors started

In March, a fan claimed that James Kennedy was the first one who spilled the tea about Katie Maloney’s split from Tom Schwartz. He was allegedly non-sober at the time. The Instagram account @blocked_by_jaxx had a Q&A with fellow fans. One person asked, “What do you think of the Katie & Schwartz breakup rumors?”

“OK I was in Orlando when this s*** went down and missed a lot of it. If it’s true then FINALLY,” @blocked_by_jaxx wrote, according to a Reddit thread. “He is low key the worst and is a horrible husband. I’d actually like her more if she left him.”

Then, an anonymous source sent a tip to that account. That fan claimed that James Kennedy blurted about their split during his trip to Vegas. Apparently, he was drinking during the time.

“Have a friend that hung out with James in Vegas and he told her that they aren’t together,” the source said. “And James was the opposite of sober.”

The @blocked_by_jaxx account responded with the word, “Stop.” They shared a screenshot of their interaction via their Instagram Stories. At the time, the rumors were unconfirmed. Yet, James Kennedy hasn’t hinted on Instagram that he’s back to drinking.

James Kennedy confirmed drinking with fans?

Now, a video has made the rounds on the internet. Per In Touch Weekly, the Bravo star gets paid for DJing gigs at various nightclubs. These gigs may have ruined his sobriety. James Kennedy was partying with two of his co-stars in Atlantic City.

He was spotted drinking during his DJing gig at the Pool After Dark at Harrahs’s in Atlantic City, which included Tom Sandoval and Schwartz. An insider told the outlet that James Kennedy was acting belligerently. He was upset that security wasn’t hiding his drinking habits.

“At one point he was calling for security, because he was upset there wasn’t enough security around him, and at another point he was screaming for a water,” the source said. “But he did have a bottle of Tito’s and a champagne bottle at the DJ booth according to one of the staff.”

Meanwhile, a recent YouTube video showed a sweaty James Kennedy spraying a bottle of champagne on fans as he danced during his gig. He shot champagne into their mouths before taking a quick swig from the bottle. The shirtless reality star was having a wild time as his pants fell down and exposed his underwear.
