‘Love After Lockup’ John Slater Back Behind Bars, For What?
Love After Lockup has spawned some interesting relationships. One of them has definitely been between John Slater and Lacey Whitlow. They proceeded to keep it on and off into Life After Lockup even if they knew they were toxic. Now, it appears John may have gone back down a bad rabbit hole.
John Slater’s Search For Love After Lockup
Lacey fell in love with two men and lucky for her, they were both in jail. She had met John prior to him getting locked up and the two got engaged. Then he went to prison but she swore she would be there for him when he was released. Unfortunately, that did not happen as planned. Lacey started to communicate with another inmate, Shane Whitlow and she immediately began to have feelings for him. Yet she failed to tell him about her other situation. She feared if he knew she was engaged, he would leave her. Ultimately, Lacey was there when Shane got released and ended up choosing him. The two got married and even underwent IVF to conceive their daughter. Despite all this work, Lacey and John still had a connection.
Whenever things got tough with Shane, Lacey immediately ran to John. The trio once again appeared on the LAL spinoff, Life After Lockup. Lacey felt Shane was cheating on her so she reconnected with John after a rough night with Shane. He was with someone else and said he was done with Lacey but they ended up back together. By New Year 2022, they were seen on social media partying the night away. It appeared that they were very much back on and happy. Now someone from Lacey’s inner circle is revealing John might be in a bit of trouble.
Trouble In Paradise?
According to Lacey’s estranged husband, Shane, John is not doing his best at the moment. Apparently, he has found himself behind bars once again. When the series first began, John was serving time for possession of firearms. Then, he claimed to be living a sober life. Most recently, he shared photos of his wrecked car on social media. He said he would rebuild it but his followers were quick to attack: “Back in jail?” one asked. Another commented: “Stop doing drugs.” He took a lot of offense to this but now it appears all the attacks foreshadowed reality.
After Shane shared that John was locked up again, his followers prayed that he would not take Lacey back. It seems he has a new girl in his life and she is not giving him up. He just has to use his head this time. “What happens now when Johns locked up and Shanes no longer an option…tune into @loveafterlockup_wetv,” his girlfriend commented. Others chimed in with similar sentiments. It is still unknown what John’s charges are or if Lacey will remain by his side.
