Jodie Sweetin Teases ‘Full House’ Spinoff Amid ‘Fuller House’ Rumors
Jodie Sweetin teased the idea of a Full House spinoff. This comes amid the rumors that Fuller House Season 6 could see the light of day on GAC Family. Earlier this week, Candace Cameron Bure announced that she left Hallmark for GAC Media. She will have an important job that allows her to oversee the content on both GAC Lifestyle and GAC Family.
Currently, viewers can watch Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin on past episodes of Full House and Fuller House. Bure is also expected to create, produce, and act in new movies and television shows. This news has some wondering if she would have the power to bring Fuller House over to the network. The Full House spinoff premiered on Netflix in 2016 but was canceled in 2020 after five seasons.
Jodie Sweetin open to Full House reboot
In a new interview, Jodie Sweetin admitted that she’s onboard for another Full House spinoff. In 2016, the sitcom was rebooted into a Netflix original. Celebrities and former cast members were briefly featured in the short-term series. Jodie Sweetin reprised her role alongside Bure and Andrea Barber.
They lived together in the old Tanner residence, which became the Fuller household. The former child star expressed an interest in starring in another Full House reboot. In an interview with E! News, Sweetin shared that she would love to return to a series similar to Fuller House. She also talked about her relationship with her cast members.
“Absolutely. I love working with them,” Jodie Sweetin told E! News hosts Loni Love and Justin Sylvester. “It’s like, ‘Do you wanna go back and have fun and work with the people you love, that you’ve known your whole life?’ Of course!”
Unfortunately, Fuller House ended in 2020. Netflix has no plans to relaunch the revival series. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from buzzing about a possible Season 6. Bure could also bring the show to GAC Family.
Could Fuller House Season 6 happen?
The Fuller House cast has expressed an interest in filming Season 6. If that doesn’t happen, Jodie Sweetin’s co-stars Andrea Barber and Candace Cameron Bure even have an idea in mind for a potential show. Maybe Bure could pull some strings and bring the idea to GAC Media.
“We always joke about our Golden Girls sort of future show,” Jodie Sweetin revealed before adding, “the three of us, living somewhere in Miami.”
This isn’t the first time that Jodie Sweetin has expressed an interest in reprising her role. In October 2021, during her appearance on Australia’s The Morning Show, she talked about the idea of doing another spinoff. The other Fuller House cast members are also open to another spinoff. Last month, Dave Coulier joked with Today about doing a third series called Fullest House.
Barber and Bure would also love to do a follow-up series on their characters’ lives. They noted that the late Bob Saget would want them to do the show without him. What are your thoughts on a Fuller House Season 6? Or, would you be down with a new spinoff? Sound off below in the comment section.
