‘Full House’ David Coulier ‘Uncle Joey’ Admits To Being A Drunk

Here’s something that might shock fans of Full House star David Coulier. The guy who’s known as “Uncle Joey” to his fans admitted that he used to be a drunk. He took to Instagram to reveal this secret side to himself. Coulier is typically known as a goofy and funny guy.

Fans don’t typically affiliate him with being inebriated. On Thursday, March 24, the actor took to Instagram to share a shocking photo with his fans. Coulier shared what he’s been hiding for yeras. He posted a throwback selfie in which he had blood on his nose and mouth. In his lengthy message, he talked about his struggles with alcohol.

It’s very rare for David Coulier to be serious. But, he wanted to share this message with his followers. He admitted that he used to get drunk a lot. Coulier shocked fans with his admission and selfie.

“I was a drunk. Yes. An alcoholic. I’ve been alcohol-free since January 1, 2020,” David Coulier revealed with his fans. “When I drank, I was the life of the party. I could make people laugh until they fell down. In this picture, I was the one who fell down.”

The Fuller House star explained that he got so drunk that he fell down while climbing up “stairs made of stone.” Coulier enjoyed “having ‘beers with the boys'”, especially after a game of hockey or golf. Sometimes he would spend eight hours drinking and would be the last guy at the bar.

The comedian admitted his drinking problem. Coulier said that while he “loved booze, it didn’t love me back.” He became sober in early 2020 and hasn’t looked back. Yet, it wasn’t easy. Coulier admitted the “mental and physical withdrawal” was hard to get through.

The Hollywood star credited his wife Melissa Coulier for her support. He could also turn to his friends, who were already sober. Coulier concluded his long message with one of hope for his fans and followers. Now, he can make people genuinely laugh without being drunk.

“The sky is more blue, my heart is no longer closed, and I enjoy making people laugh until they fall down more than ever before,” David Coulier added. “Thank you, Melissa, for being by my side. I love you.”

Full House star receives support from his fans

Within four hours, David Coulier’s post received over 110,000 likes. He received support from some of his famous friends. Full House actor Scott Weinger simply commented: “👏👏👏❤️”

Kelly Rizzo wrote, “Love you, Dave, ❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Coulier’s wife added, “SO proud of you. I love you and your strength so much!! ❤️❤️” Most of his fans and followers took to the comment section to share love and support for the actor. They left the red heart emoji to show that they’re with him and supporting him through his sobriety.
