‘1000-Lb. Sisters:’ Is Tammy Slaton Battling A Pain Pill Addiction?
1000-Lb. Sisters star Tammy Slaton has a long history of health complications. Fans are really glad she made the brave decision to check herself into rehab at the end of Season 3. We believe Tammy is still in rehab to this day — but is she making any progress?
Some fans are worried that she’s not making progress with her food addiction. And what’s worse is that others think she might be battling a new addiction too.

Reddit users discuss the possibility of Tammy Slaton having a pill addiction
The 1000-Lb. Sisters section of Reddit is full of theories about the cast members. Tammy Slaton doesn’t share much about her progress in rehab, so sometimes fans share their own ideas.
Naturally, this is where the pain pill theory stemmed from.
“Do you think Tammy is addicted to pain pills?” the original Reddit user asks. We don’t really have any evidence of this, but Tammy Slaton has received many medical procedures in her life. It’s likely she was on pain pills at some point.
Other Reddit users didn’t really seem to have any concrete answers but offered their opinions anyway.
“Love the insight!” OP replies after reading some of the responses. “I mostly ask because of how many My 600lb Lifers are addicted and when her mom mentioned her pain meds in this episode, it set off reminder bells. Like… duh! I forgot pain pill addicts can definitely be huge size-wise. She doesn’t act like a pill head but then again, they probably don’t have the effect on her they would on someone of regular size. Also would be relatively easy to hide. Just like how Amy hides her cigarette habit pretty darn well.”
Amy Halterman did confirm she smokes — she’s even smoking while pregnant with her second child. However, TLC really doesn’t show Amy smoking cigarettes on the show.

Tammy Slaton seemingly confirmed there would be a fourth season of 1000-Lb. Sisters. However, TLC never confirmed this news and many fans are starting to believe Tammy was just speculating.
