‘Dancing With The Stars’ Moves Channels In A Shocking Shakeup
Unfortunately, Dancing With The Stars as we all know and love is coming to an end.
The show isn’t canceled — but it won’t be back on ABC when it does return this fall. Instead, it’s completely moving to a new platform. Keep reading to see where and when you can watch new episodes of Dancing With The Stars this year.
ABC confirms that Dancing With The Stars will no longer be part of its lineup
Dancing With The Stars has been a staple of ABC for 16 years. But now, it’s finding a new home. TVLine confirms that Season 31 will air on Disney+ this fall, not ABC. As the publication notes, this will be the first time Disney+ will tackle live programming.
So far, it seems like we will get to watch live episodes and vote for DWTS competitors. But will people actually tune into the app to watch? That’s the question in a lot of minds.
“After over 30 seasons of the program on ABC, including two spin-offs, Dancing With The Stars will move off of ABC this fall in order for the Network to showcase several Monday Night Football games as well as develop and invest in new and future programming,” ABC officially stated.
“Dancing With The Stars has entertained fans for 16 years on ABC, and we are excited to bring this beloved show exclusively to Disney+ as the platform’s first-ever live series,” said a Disney spokesperson. “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for Dancing With The Stars while continuing to expand our demographic reach.”
There are a lot of shakeups heading to the popular dance show these days. As we previously wrote, long-time executive producer Andrew Llinares exited the show just a few weeks ago.
Who knows what changes may come next?
What will the cast look like this fall?
The pro dancers just finished up their 2022 Dancing With The Stars tour. However, many of them are probably concerned about their jobs. Val Chmerkovskiy famously said he probably wouldn’t come back. And after his recent beef with some costars, that’s probably true.
But what about the other dancers? What will happen to them? And will Tyra Banks and the judges make a return?
Like our readers, we have more questions than answers right now. But we will keep monitoring the situation and get back to you as soon as we know more.
Will you tune into Disney+ this fall to watch new episodes of Dancing With The Stars? Who do you think will come back and who will part ways? Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments. We’re really curious to see where the situation goes from here.

I will still watch them. I’m a fan no matter what. Hopefully Tyra will not follow along with Lynn. He has worn out his time. I will miss Val he is a fantastic dancer but there are much more great ones to watch!
This is the end of another program that was included in my Satellite package. Now I have to pay an additional $10 a month to watch DWTS. No way. I’m out.
I had stopped watching the show a couple of years ago Tom Bergeron is respectful pleasant & funny he brought a family quality to a show that dealt with a lot of egos. You believed they cared about each other& a good show..Then the diva was the host the show became more about her costumes so I stopped watching ..
Well I personally think that your viewers are the ones you should be worried about not the people that might come back or not come back, who’s going to host or not going to host.
You need to focus on pleasing us the people who are watching because without us you don’t have a show.
Enough is enough. I refuse to pay for another app. Bye bye, DWTS!
I will not be paying for another App.. Feel there will be a lot of viewers upset about this. This seems to me would affect a lot of the votes for the stars.
