‘ICarly’ Season 2 Premieres On Paramount+ With Miranda Cosgrove, More
In 2007, ICarly created a huge buzz with lead Miranda Cosgrove and other stars for Nickelodeon. Now, Season 2 of the remade ICarly premieres with two new episodes airing Friday, April 8, 2022, on streaming giant, Paramount+.
Miranda Cosgrove still plays the webcast O.G. influencer Carly Shay with cast members Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress along for the ride.
The series stars Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress, Laci Mosley, and Jaidyn Triplett, with Cosgrove, Trainor, and Kress reprising their roles from the original Nick series.
Naturally, years have gone by, and the cast is older and wiser, which means the dynamics will also be more adult, so you will not want a younger child watching, but the show is not venturing into ‘R” rated territory.
ICarly today, older and wiser
Fans of the original show will enjoy seeing how their favorite characters fared, got back together, and live their lives today.
Season two follows the events from the initial 13-episode Paramount+ series that debuted in 2021 from Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten. We were reunited with now 26-year-old college grad Carly who lives with her bestie Harper (Laci Mosley).
Add to that mix is big brother, Spencer, suddenly in the money from art-world fame, and Freddie, who is now twice-divorced and living with his mom after his tech company went bust. His stepdaughter is Millicent, played by Jaidyn Triplett.
Today TV Shows Ace received the new trailer, and the show’s upcoming premiere takes us from when it ended in 2012 to the new reboot. And of course, some things are different, except the Carly web show is the main focus, as the cast all have a different hand or influence in its making.
About the streaming series ICarly
Carly initiates the revival of her old web show. This older kid-friendly comedy is now revived for streaming and is based on the Nickelodeon 2007 TV series of the same name.
Created by Dan Schneider, the Nickelodeon series has had time travel and is under a new creative vision and is happily ensconced on Paramount+ nearly a decade after the original series finale. Unfortunately, former ICarly castmate Jeanette McCurdy is not part of the rebooted series cast.
The 10-episode second season of Paramount+’s ICarly series picks up immediately where the first season ended. After some romantic complications, Carly focuses on her friends and family as she works hard to rebrand and revamp her web channel.
This series is produced by Nickelodeon Studios and is executive produced by Ali Schouten, Jonathan Fener, and Miranda Cosgrove, with Schouten and Fener also serving as showrunners. Jerry Trainor, Nathan Kress, and Alissa Vradenburg are producers.
The new season of iCarly is streaming on April 8, exclusively on Paramount+.
