Amy Halterman has been one of the most popular 1000-Lb. Sisters cast members. However, her most recent Instagram post is really costing her.

Amy Halterman stirs up controversy in her latest Instagram post
Amy Halterman and the rest of her family come from Kentucky. The views expressed in Amy’s new Instagram post unfortunately aren’t uncommon in that area, but fans aren’t happy nevertheless.
“Had a blast tonight. Got to meet the nicest people. confederate railroad thanks for having us!!!!!” Amy captioned a photo.
Confederate Railroad is a rock band from Georgia. Over the last several years, they’ve faced pressure to change their name due to its offensive nature but declined to do so. In the comments, many fans expressed disappointment that Amy and her family would support a group like this.
To make matters worse, a boy in the photo — presumably one of Amy’s nephews — is clearly wearing a Trump 2020 hat.
“Confederate? Please no. 😢” wrote one follower.
“NOT THE TRUMP HAT,” wrote someone else.
Other users determined that due to Amy’s background, followers shouldn’t be surprised about the post.
“Oh if you guys only knew. Go watch her YouTube page, and Tammy’s. They grew up in the hood in the south. It’s all she knows,” one Instagram user suggested. “The girl was arrested at Walmart for theft. I know you think you know her from the show. But it’s highly edited tid bits of her life. I’m not being mean or judgy. I’m just saying, I don’t know why anyone’s shocked. Go back and watch their YouTube channel. Go watch Tammy’s video called ‘trying to sing’ when she starts talking…that’s the reality of it.”
Some followers even speculated that TLC might intervene after this post.
Will TLC move on without the show’s star?
1000-Lb. Sisters is one of TLC’s best-performing shows, so it doesn’t seem likely they’ll cancel the project outright. But viewers made it pretty clear — they aren’t okay with Amy Halterman’s post.
Instead, it’s possible they may quietly shift away from Amy. After all, she previously said she isn’t sure she wants to continue filming any longer. She’s going to have her second child this summer and wants to dedicate more time to being a mother.
Unlike Tammy, Amy continues to share more of her personal life online. This leads some fans to believe she isn’t returning for Season 4 and no longer has to abide by NDA rules.
Time will only tell if anything comes from this post.

Huh…what a coincidence, I was just listening to Confederate Railroad this evening…and I voted Democrat last election. I’m not sure we can get rid of the term “confederacy” from our lingo. It has Latin origins, so it’s use is not exclusive to the South. I know the band/group means it the southern way, but it IS a part of US history.
