Komi Can’t Communicate is a funny and well-animated Japanese anime series that was popular in Season 1. The series comes from the popular Japanese manga of the same name by Tomohito Oda.

Season 2 of the anime series is set to start broadcasting in Japan from April 2022. However, at this time there is no news from the Netflix side.

What is the Japanese anime about?

The story revolves around Shouko Komi, as she starts her first day at a prestigious private high school. Her fellow school students are immediately attracted to Komi, due to her beautiful looks and tall stature. However, it turns out she has trouble communicating, which scares away the other students.

Meanwhile, fellow student Hitihito Tadano realizes that she has problems communicating and has probably never had a single friend. He makes it his mission to help Komi make a hundred friends in order to overcome her communication disorder.

Current status of Season 2 of Komi Can’t Communicate

As of now, the official Netflix renewal status for Komi Can’t Communicate is listed as renewed. In fact, it was first announced on December 21, 2021, that Season 2 was on its way. Meanwhile, the second season will start airing in Japan in April 2022.

It turns out it isn’t that surprising that Komi Can’t Communicate was renewed for a second season. Reportedly, the manga itself is very popular in Japan and so far, 24 volumes have been published. Meanwhile, the anime series has performed well on Netflix which is no mean feat. Apparently, this is only the second Netflix Anime series to come out on a weekly basis.

Season 1 of Komi Can’t Communicate covers around 73 chapters of the manga. So far, 324 chapters have been published. Due to this, the anime series has barely started releasing the source material. For this reason, it is likely that fans can expect to see at least four or five seasons of the Japanese anime.

When is Season 2 the Japanese anime coming to Netflix?

The release of a key visual on Twitter made it clear that Komi Can’t Communicate will return for Season 2 in Japan on April 6, 2022. However, it is not clear when the anime will release on Netflix. As noted by What’s on Netflix, in the past, episodes of the Japanese anime were not released on the streamer at the same time as in Japan.
