With Few Lines, He Was A Beloved Member Of The Cast

Ralph Ahn was a man of few words in New Girl. But, he played an important role in the life of one of the main characters. As Nick’s best friend, he helped him get through some difficult times and provided an ear when Nick needed someone to talk to. For most of his roles in the series, Ralph barely uttered a word. But, New Girl fans loved him and his bond with Nick.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Liz Meriweather opened up about the decision to make Ralph Ahn a recurring character. Turns out, it was Jake Johnson who texted her and proposed the idea. Liz added that Ralph wasn’t exactly a hard character to write into the show because of his lack of lines. She thought the idea of making him recurring was hilarious, so she made it happen.

Sadly, his cause of death is presently unknown. Given his age, his cause of death could have been natural causes related to old age.

Rest in peace, Ralph Ahn. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and co-stars during this difficult time.
