‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Stars On Jean-Luc’s Paternity Battle
Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 premieres tonight. Some of your favorite stars sounded off on Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux’s paternity battle. Earlier this year, Jean-Luc confirmed that he’s the father of Dani Soares’ baby girl. Yet, she doesn’t think he’s going to step up as a father.
The two are currently navigating a co-parenting relationship. However, the distance might make it hard since he still works in the yachting industry. Meanwhile, Dani currently resides in Australia, where she’s raising their baby. Now, their former co-stars are sounding out off on the situation.
The hookup that became so much more
Hookups are common on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Yet, the second season was filled with its share of love triangles, wild nights out, and an STD scare. Jean-Luc and Dani’s relationship started out innocent. They kissed during a crew night out. The two got closer as the weeks went on.
The two co-stars hooked up while filming the second season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Dani ended up pregnant after wrapping up the last season. Jean-Luc denied the claims that he was the father. During the Bravo reunion, Dani admitted that he wanted nothing to do with the child.
Jean-Luc refused to show up for the reunion. However, he filmed an interview with host Andy Cohen. He said that he was willing to take a paternity test. In January 2021, Jean-Luc confirmed the paternity of their child. Dani has dropped hints that he hasn’t helped out.
Some of his castmates are sharing their thoughts on the paternity battle. The former couple hasn’t said anything more about the matter. The Below Deck Sailing Yacht stars could be working it out behind the seasons. However, their former crew members have a lot to say about it.
What does the cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht think?
When the baby news first broke, most of the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew members rallied around Dani. Some of them even helped her out during her pregnancy. Some of your favorites from the Below Deck franchise even called Jean-Luc out for not stepping up as a father. Gary King and Daisy Kelliher are sharing their thoughts on the situation in an interview with E! News.
Daisy doesn’t believe Jean-Luc. She feels that he didn’t have to share the news on social media. Jean-Luc announced the paternity on Instagram instead of speaking with Dani about it. He also claimed that the backlash caused him to take a break from social media.
“I thought it wasn’t an appropriate post. I don’t think something so complicated should be talked about so openly on social media in my opinion, especially for Lilly, who can’t vocalize for herself. But that’s just my opinion. It’s not really any of my business, but I think the post could have been more about Lilly and Dani and maybe a bit less about Jean-Luc.”
Daisy doesn’t want to judge Jean-Luc “too much” for what happened. She noted how “young” he is compared to Dani. She has a feeling the 26-year-old will “learn the hard way.” Gary King had some choice words for his former colleague.
“I guess that’s good on him but Dani doesn’t need him to come out on Instagram and telling everybody that he’s a father. Dani needs [more than that]. She’s a single parent living in Australia by herself, she needs support from Jean-Luc. She needs a father to be there for the child. It’s all good in saying stuff on social media but words are completely different to actions and if his actions spoke louder than his words, then then it would be different, but they at the moment they’re not.”
Gary hasn’t forgiven Jean-Luc for running “away from the truth.” The first officer says he was “brought up differently” from his former co-star. Since then, Daisy and Gary returned to Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3. The two have become the center of dating rumors because of the trailer of the upcoming season.
What are your thoughts on what Jean-Luc’s co-stars said about him? Do you agree that he shouldn’t have announced his paternity on social media? Do you think he’ll make a good father? Sound off below in the comment section.
