Jessica Lowndes Inks GAC Media Deal For More Original Content
GAC Family president Bill Abbott is all about the talented Jessica Lowndes, whose last effort for the network centered on the power of music to heal in the romantic yarn, Harmony From The Heart.
Today it was announced that Lowndes and GAC Media are in business, as the multi-hyphenate talented actor and musician has signed a four-picture deal to star in, write, direct and executive produce original films for GAC Family.
Over the weekend, the original film Harmony From the Heart received rave reviews. She starred Lowndes as Violet, a music therapist opposite Jesse Metcalfe as a doubting doctor who witnessed the healing powers of music with his grandfather.
In addition to starring in the film, Jessica wrote the original screenplay and Executive Produced the film.
GAC and Lowndes Collaborate
This film marks the sixth film Jessica Lowndes has Executive produced and her second produced original script.
Moreover, she performs several of the film’s original songs, which she also wrote and produced. From Harmony From The Heart, Lowndes co-wrote “11:11” with Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling singer-songwriter and producer Zyra, alongside music producers Aaron Edwards (Miley Cyrus, Elohim, Lucy Hale) and Corey Walles. Edwards and Walles produced a majority of the music for the film.
Her first collaboration with GAC Family was Executive Producing and starring in Autumn Romance, the first-ever original film to air on the network.
And Lowndes recently Executive Produced and starred in the original film Angels Falls Christmas, which premiered on GAC Family in November 2021.
Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig cast Lowndes in 2015 to star alongside them in Lifetime’s A Deadly Adoption, earning the night’s most-watched original cable program ratings.
She was solidly in the romantic comedy lane. Her many projects with Lifetime and Hallmark included original songs she wrote and performed for those projects. Most notably, she wrote the screenplay for Over the Moon in Love and co-wrote/performed the hit song Paradise for the film, hitting #1 on iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts.
Lowndes Career: From Horror to Heartthrob
In her past work, Lowndes is best known for her poignant role as a drug-addicted teen ‘Adrianna’ on the CW’s hit series 90210. Originally written as a 3-episode arc, her character earned the series regular position as she became a central character on 90210 for five seasons. Later in the series, her character evolved into a pop star, and Jessica performed her original pop songs on the show.
The early years saw Jessica collaborate with horror impresario Mick Garris of Masters of Horror. She recently told M&C that she has a horror script she is finishing up and that every genre is on the table for her writing.
Lowndes has self-released over 20 original songs, and her single, Silicone in Stereo, reached #11 on the Billboard charts in both the US and Canada. In addition, her duet “Alive,” which she performed with her co-star and Broadway sensation Jeremy Jordan for Mix Up in the Mediterranean, cracked the top 15 on iTunes last year.
