Peta Murgatroyd’s Terrifying Valentine’s Day Scare While Maks Is Gone
Couples around the world are preparing to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This year, Peta Murgatroyd planned to spend the day without her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy.
The couple is happily married and very much in love, but Maks has a lot of work projects going on in Ukraine at the moment. Meanwhile, Peta and their son Shai are at home together in the United States.
And that’s why Peta felt so afraid when she heard an adult male’s voice in her house recently. Keep reading to find out about the situation.
Pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd thought an intruder was in her home at first
Peta Murgatroyd had fans a little concerned at the beginning of her recent Instagram post.
“Yesterday afternoon I was in the bathroom while Shai was watching a movie. We’d just eaten lunch and finished dance lessons. I heard Shai scream and then a males voice followed,” the professional dancer began. “I couldn’t make out who it was and I got concerned and raced out to see who the F was in my house 🤣🙈”
Cheryl Burke recently had a close call at her own home, so fans felt really scared for Peta at this point in the story. Fortunately, things got better from there.
“I was going to reach for something sharp (I have a few things by my bed) however Shai’s scream didn’t give me ‘I’m terrified vibes’ …so I proceeded without a weapon in my bath robe 🤣,” she continued.
“It was @maksimc hoisting Shai up on his shoulders. I was in complete shock, we had just been speaking on the phone, with him telling me he was driving back to his hotel in the freezing cold in Ukraine. Lol. Liar!!! Big lies!!! He had flown overnight and told me that he had a long work day and wouldn’t be able to talk for most of it. More Lies!!!! ❤️ This was the BEST SURPRISE EVER!!! My forever valentine #lyingissoromantic”
Thankfully, the story had a very happy ending. Maks couldn’t be happier to be at home with his wife and son for the holiday.

Ultimately, fans are just relieved that Peta didn’t have to fight an intruder in their house. Many fans and DWTS costars left positive vibes in the comments.
“Ok fully sobbing right now 😭😭 Sweetest surprise EVER!!!!” the couple’s sister-in-law Jenna Johnson commented.

It’s going to be really hard for Maks to top this Valentine’s Day surprise in the future.
