Did TLC Canceling The Duggars End Pressure To Get Pregnant?

YouTube, Duggars on Counting On

Could the cancelation of TLC’s Counting On have to do with the lull in pregnancy announcements from the Duggars? The family’s show was canceled after Josh was arrested in the spring of 2021. The eldest Duggar son has since been found guilty of child porn charges.

At any given time, several women in the family may be expecting. In November of 2019, Anna, Lauren, and Kendra all welcomed baby girls to the world. So, they were all pregnant together, too. Just a couple of months afterward, Abbie gave birth to her first child, too.

However, there seem to be fewer pregnancies now than there have been in the past. Currently, only one of Jim Bob and Michelle’s daughters or daughters-in-law is known to be pregnant. Jedidiah and his wife, Katey, are expecting their first baby, a boy, in the spring.

Are the Duggars’ pregnancies slowing down with the cancelation of the show?

On Reddit, Duggar family critics are discussing the possibility that the show’s cancelation will affect the number of pregnancy announcements.

One Reddit user asks, “Is Katey the only announced pregnant Duggar or in-law right now? If no one announces before April it really makes me wonder how much pressure there was to have more kids for the show.”

Some users think that the show’s cancelation does away with the pressure to announce a pregnancy. There are rumors circulating that Lauren may be expecting. People also suspect Kendra might be pregnant because she has had her first three children very close in age.

One Reddit user writes, “With no more show or TV opportunities in the future some of them might not announce.”

Someone else chimes in, “That’s what I think. They don’t have to make a public announcement anymore if they don’t want to and I think a couple will take advantage of that. I’m wondering if Lauren and Josiah will even announce births now.”

In this YouTube clip, you can see Abbie Duggar announce her first pregnancy to her family members on the show. Pregnancy announcements on the show were a big deal and likely drew in a big audience. Without the show, the Duggars may decide to announce if and when they want to on social media.

So, do you think that the show’s cancelation has anything to do with the Duggars not getting pregnant so quickly now? Or do you think there’s another reason that there are so few pregnancies right now? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. 1. I believe that the cancelation of the show will have an effect on how many more grandbabies come along.
I don’t believe that the couples who have more than two or three babies now won’t be having more children. Too many of the women have had extremely hazardous complications with their pregnancies.
I don’t believe they’ll follow their supposed religion and have as many babies as they possibly can. It’s just too dangerous and the grandbabies will grow up to be scarred adults because the parents will be too busy scrambling to support them. The attention and love shown will be inadequate.
