Tammy Slaton’s mom gives heartfelt speech
Toward the end of the 1000-Lb. Sisters Season 3 Finale, Tammy Slaton finally makes the decision to go to rehab. Her entire family including her home health aide Tisa come together to say goodbye to her as she leaves for her extended stay at rehab. Because of her size, Tammy Slaton is unable to go to just any facility. They had to find a facility that was capable of handling her. With Dr. Smith’s help, they found a facility in Ohio.
Chris Combs and his wife packed Tammy up and transported her to the facility in Ohio. But, this was not before her entire family including her mother and all of her siblings gathered to say goodbye to her.
Darlene was one of the first to give a speech and it was truly a heartfelt one. Darlene Slaton revealed that her daughter Tammy was the first member of the family to graduate with honors. She noted Tammy was always such a beautiful and smart girl. Darlene believed this was finally going to be Tammy’s time to shine.
Tammy Slaton’s mother admitted in her heartfelt speech it was usually “third times a charm.” She, however, decided Tammy Slaton was going to prove the world wrong and be successful at rehab during her second stay. She did not think her daughter would need a third stay to be successful.
Why was this speech such a surprise for fans?
Darlene isn’t exactly a fan favorite as far as cast members are concerned. Fans frequently rag on Darlene saying she’s a bad mother. Fans don’t care for the way she talks to her treats her children. Moreover, a lot of fans blame Darlene for Amy and Tammy being the way they are. This heartfelt speech was a bit of a shock for fans because they didn’t realize Darlene Slaton actually had so much love for her daughters.

Tammy I was seriously thinking of seeing who owned that duplex and moving,next door so I could help you….I lost 20 pounds in 1 month changing my eating habits..you would probably lost 3 x thT much..but never fear you would not get by with the things you did to amy..take credit tammy..I M team tammy.

They probably get hundreds of inquiries from people wanting to be on the show. And just because you lost weight doesn’t mean you’d be allowed to contact her.
If Tammy graduated with honors the state should hang it’s head in shame over its educational standards.
Her mother probably got tired of catching flack so she had to say something to clean up the damage.
As for Tamisaurus Rex.
She’ll lose weight in rehab but eventually if they let her out…shell just work harder to gain it all back and then some.

Tammy and Amy’s mother spouting off that little speech made me sick. She is obviously a great actress because she certainly doesn’t care for her children. It was just a last ditch effort to make people not hate her as much but she didn’t fool me or a lot of other fans.
No one knows these girls mother let alone what her life has been like. We should not judges others by other peoples words especially there children who tend not to take credit for their own mistakes. Tammy is a very angry person who takes no blame for her position. Amy seems to be maturing yet once she got her baby she to was falling back into poor habits.
I am so happy for Tammy and her family. It seems she has started to take her health seriously, since she was the one to ask for rehab this time. Everyone should continue to encourage and help her to succeed this time. Never give up hope and giving help as long as she keeps trying. None of us are perfect in doing everything in our own lives.
Please tell me do it for yourself not for anybody else I think your mother was there when you were a child you should be proud of your mother and be thankful for her and all she’s done so step up to the plate big girl put the big girl panties on and do the right thing
I have watched the 1000-Lb Sisters since the end of the 1st season. I give credit to all of those people, it is not easy to lose weight. It takes a lot of will power, you may try and have all intensions of following through but sometimes your best efforts is not enough. People lose 15-20 lbs and say look I lost the weight but for those of us who needs to lose 80 or more pounds its not so easy, we really try but sometimes we fail. It is not that we don’t want to do it we just are not successful. I wish Tammy luck don’t give up.

Tammy will go from one addiction to another. That’s how it works. Which one will kill her first? Food or Alcohol?
Its hard to quit. Been there done that. With Tammys weight she’s a ticking time bomb.
I got real emotional especially when tammy was asking for help. I feel so bad for her. I totally understand her going all out and vaping ect…she was screaming for help. She probably wanted to die. So for everybody who puts her down and is so mean, put yourself in her life. I pray she goes 100% and is successful go tammy!!!! Show us
I’ve always thought they were giving the mom a bad edit and she was not as bad as the picture her girls painted of her, Tammy and Amy had to blame someone besides themselves for indulging in there overeating Not once have they ever thank there mom for working her butt off to cloth, put them thru school, put all that food they ate on the table and a roof that she put over there heads, The woman had to work to keep the bills paid and they should be grateful instead of complaining, As far as ones who complain their mom wouldn’t go with Amy dress shopping or walk her down the isle have you not noticed she’s in a wheel chair and she figured someone who could walk would be an easier option. I know she loves her kids I’ve heard her say it and I’ve heard her tell Amy once she was proud of her for losing the weight. If she was bad as they say she was why would they have a relationship with her or have her on the show.
