Other stars in the series include Nicholas Hoult as Peter, Sacha Dhawan, Phoebe Fox, Charity Wakefield and Gwilym Lee. Also starring are Adam Godley, Bayo Gbadamosi, Douglas Hodge and Belinda Bromilow.

Meanwhile, the series is a fictionalized comedic and satirical take on Catherine the Great’s rise to power. In fact, Hulu describes the series as “anti-historical,” so it is clear that the script isn’t exactly historically accurate.

Has the Hulu series been renewed for season 3?

Disney’s Television Critics Association announced the renewal of the series for Season 3 during its winter press tour session on Tuesday. It also revealed that the third season of Hulu’s The Great will have 10 episodes.

However, at this stage, it is unclear when Season 3 will arrive on the streaming platform. As Season 2 dropped in November, possibly the same will be true for Season 3.

What happened in Season 2 of Hulu’s The Great?

The second season of The Great saw Catherine (Fanning) finally take the Russian throne after overthrowing her husband (Hoult). However, she soon struggles with her role and with her emotions over her feelings for Peter.

As for what is likely to happen in Season 3, McNamara previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he hadn’t yet made any specific plans. He knows a number of storylines could come from several events that were interesting in Season 2. However, at the end of that season, he didn’t quite know what Season 3 would entail. McNamara added that he likes not knowing what comes next, adding that if you have a show with a great ensemble and great bunch of characters, “you can invent as you go for a while.”
