‘Below Deck’ Fraser Olender Reveals His Insecurities
Below Deck Season 9 cast member Fraser Olender came off as confident and self-assured in the show’s premiere. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Fraser took his position as stew seriously. Fans ended up falling in love with his witty remarks. Some want him to replace chief stew Heather Chase.
On the Monday, January 10, episode, Fraser admitted that he’s insecure. He had fans in a tizzy when he said that he’s nervous about the stew that’s arriving on board. The My Seanna crew were down two stews when Jessica Albert abruptly quit. Heather informed her friend, Kaylee Milligan, that a new position had opened up.
Fraser Olender is worried about the new stew
The new stew could bring less stress to the interior team. However, Fraser doesn’t feel that way. He feels that it’ll just bring unnecessary drama since she’s good friends with Heather. Fraser felt that they were finally on the same page. The two had a rough start at the beginning of the charter season, and that could happen again with her friend there.
Heather is very excited to have Kaylee join the crew. The two last worked together on a boat in Florida. Kaylee is set to arrive in the next episode. Even first officer Eddie Lucas expressed his own concerns about Kaylee and Heather’s friendship causing tension with Fraser.
Heather claims that she will prevent any tension from happening. Fraser was not as excited when he heard the news. He immediately wanted to know more about Kaylee. He admitted in his confessional that he felt “insecure” and “threatened” by Heather’s decision.
Fraser shared that he was kind of a “dorky kid.” His mother would help dress him, which caused him to get teased by his fellow schoolmates. He continued to struggle with his insecurities as he got older. He’s hoping that it won’t turn into a Mean Girl situation.
Fraser confides in deckhands Jake Foulger and Rayna Lindsey. Heather gets upset that her crewmembers ask her questions about her decision. She doesn’t understand what the big deal is. She sees it as a good thing since they could use another stew.
Below Deck star had other insecurities
Fraser also admitted that he felt insecure when he learned about Rayna and Jake’s hook-up. He made an appearance on Monday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live. The yachtie said he believes that the two did more than kiss. Fraser admitted that he didn’t want to get involved with their tryst. Host Andy Cohen asked him if he was jealous.
“I can’t lie, in the moment I was a bit like, ugh,” Fraser said. “But it was just a bit seedy, also I don’t enjoy Norbert, so I thought get myself out of this [expletive] and go find myself some peace and quiet on my own.”
Fraser made an effortless escape. He headed out on the deck to relax. The stew assured himself that he’s fine on his own. It’ll be interesting to see how he handles the new stew. It sounds like he doesn’t like being the third-wheel in any situation.
