Is divorce an option for Josh and Anna Duggar? Josh was arrested in the spring of 2020 for receiving and possessing child pornography. His trial ran from November 30 through December 9. The whole time, his wife has stood by his side, despite the disgusting charges. She attended each day of his trial.

In the end, he was found guilty and is now in the county jail waiting for sentencing, which will come in the spring. He’s facing decades behind bars, plus fines. Sources say that Anna is still standing by Josh after his guilty verdict.

For months, fans have been urging Anna to get a divorce. Fans want her to protect her children, and they are fearful that Josh could harm the kids. The pair shares seven children, from two months old to 12 years old. Now that he’s behind bars, that’s no longer a concern.

But fans are still wondering how Anna can stay married to Josh after knowing about the disturbing material found on his computer. Some of the horrific content allegedly even included the abuse of infants. Many people assumed that, as a mother, learning about this content would be enough to make her leave him.

Many fans and critics believe that she’s staying with him because of her family’s religious beliefs. Many denominations of Christianity dislike divorce, but they typically make exceptions. The Duggars are a part of a very strict religion, the Institute of Basic Life Principles (IBLP). Divorce is frowned upon in their religion, but is it allowed in such an extreme situation as this?

Can Anna Duggar divorce Josh?

On the IBLP’s website, there’s a book for sale, which questions whether divorce is ever okay and is all about rebuilding a marriage. The description for the book refers to an “exception clause” of Matthew 5:32.

Matthew 5:32 reads:

“But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of s*xual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”

In Christianity, in general, this type of immorality refers to pornography and adultery, according to Got QuestionsImmorality generally includes any relations not between a husband and wife. It seems likely that the same acts fall under immorality in the IBLP, though that is not found on the organization’s official website.

So, it seems that Josh’s crimes would be a part of immorality. However, this doesn’t mean that Anna will or will not divorce Josh. There’s no way for us to know unless something actually does happen. Fans hope she will eventually leave Josh and start a new, healthy life for herself and her kids.

So, do you think Anna Duggar will divorce Josh? Or do you think she will continue to stay with him, despite everything that has happened in their marriage? Share your thoughts in the comments section below. For more news about the Duggar family, come back to TV Shows Ace.

  1. Anna had every right to a divorce when Josh was rolling around with that prostitute!! She loves Josh and wants to stand by him.

  2. Anna needs to grow up. She needs to put her kids first .not Her pervert husband . She needs to allow examinations by CPS…unless she’s afraid they will find something there’s no reason not too. Move as far away as she can. Change their last names and start over. Those poor kids will be hurt the rest of their lives because of him .
