Jedidiah & Katey Duggar Debut New Instagram Page: What For?
Jedidiah and Katey Duggar have just created a new Instagram page. They already had one account that they shared with fans. It was previously Jedidiah’s account, but when the couple tied the knot, her name was added. Now, they both seem to post on the shared account.
Their original account is primarily used for the bigger moments in their lives, from Katey’s 23rd birthday to their pregnancy announcement. They don’t post too often. But because the account is public, they have received lots of attention from fans. They have a total of 188,000 followers, likely thanks to 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On.
Though they post on that account, they’ve decided to make a second profile, too. So, what’s it for?

The new profile features a selfie of Katey and Jedidiah in the car together. The profile also features both of their names and a brief bio that reads, “Just two lovebirds crazy about each other and passionate about their Savior! ❤️🙏🏻👩❤️💋👨” As of Wednesday, they have 43 followers and are following 89 accounts.
Claire Duggar, Justin’s wife, follows the account, so this seems to prove that it’s a real profile. If it was created by a fan, members of the Duggar family likely wouldn’t be following it.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t appear to be an account that fans will be able to follow. The couple must accept or deny each follow request. It’s private, so it’s likely just for friends and family. They might be planning to use this account to share photos and videos of their baby when he or she arrives in April. They could also just want an account for personal use where they are less likely to receive criticism.
As you may know, the Duggars all receive negative comments on social media and often have to restrict their comments because of it. So, having a private account just for friends and family could create a safer, more positive environment.
For now, it looks like fans will have to keep up with Jedidiah and Katey on their public Instagram account. The couple also has a YouTube channel, which they might start using more once their baby arrives.
