Jana Duggar Pleads Guilty In Child Endangerment Case

Jana Duggar, TLC

Former 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On star Jana Duggar has gotten herself into a bit of legal trouble. The eldest of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters was facing a child endangerment charge. The incident occurred in September, but it only went public in early December, days after Josh Duggar was found guilty in his own case.

If you didn’t know, Josh was arrested for receiving and possessing child porn. He’s awaiting sentencing and faces decades behind bars, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

While Jana’s case also involves children, she won’t be doing any time behind bars. She’s now pled guilty, and the case has been settled.

The exact details of Jana’s child endangerment case are still murky. Sources have claimed that Jana fell asleep while babysitting some of Josh and Anna’s children. Maryella, who was almost two years old at the time, was allegedly found in the street near the Duggar family’s property. Fortunately, the child was unharmed.

After the news broke, several of Jana’s family members defended her. Jessa Seewald downplayed the incident, and a couple of Jana’s brothers said that they stand with her.

Jana issued a statement herself, writing, “The raw facts: I was babysitting a few months ago when one of the children wandered outside alone. A passerby who saw the child called the police. This resulted in a written citation, as well as a follow-up with child welfare who concluded that it was an accident and the child was unharmed.”

She continued, explaining how scary it was for her. She said, “They recognized it was a case of a child slipping out of the house when you turn your back for a moment. It all happened so quickly and was scary.”

  1. She is innocent. What she did could happen to every man and woman alive.. She is the sweetest lady alive. Leave her alone.

  2. Yawn. Like others say, nobody can be at attention and on guard 24-7. Jana did nothing wrong. As anybody else would do, she agreed to pay some $$$ to make the whole thing go away, which it should. Sad that such a thing gets played up in the media when it’s a big nothing.

  3. This happened to me many years ago in the mall. Jana did nothing wrong. She has more sense in her little finger than most people do in their whole bodies. Looks like the media could find some real news to talk about and leave this woman alone.
