Kelly Dodd Says Bravo Fined Her 16k For Wearing This Accessory

Kelly Dodd made a shocking claim about Bravo. She revealed that the network fined her $16,000 for wearing a controversial hat. In October 2021, Kelly got into trouble when she was caught wearing a “Drunk Wives Matter” baseball cap at her bridal shower. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum claims it was just a “gift” and a “joke” at the time.

Kelly then appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where she apologized for wearing the hat. She also addressed some of the controversial comments she made during the coronavirus pandemic. But she still had to pay a hefty fine even though she apologized.

That hat keeps coming back to haunt her. She claimed that Bravo fined her thousands of dollars for wearing that hat. The polarizing reality star made an appearance on David Yontef’s “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast. During their conversation, Kelly claimed that the network still fined her for wearing the accessory.

“I got fined for wearing a ‘Drunk Wives Matter’ hat, and I didn’t even buy it,” Kelly Dodd explained. “It was given to me — and I didn’t wear it on the show. It was at my bridal shower, and I got dinged for that.”

David asked Kelly how much she had to pay up. She claimed she had to pay $16,000 for both wearing the hat and her “general behavior.” The reality star didn’t get into details as to why she was fined. Despite her apology tour, Kelly still owed them money.

“I got $16,000, and they wouldn’t tell me why, but I know one of those reasons was wearing that hat,” Kelly continued. “It was general behavior [though], of why I got charged [$16,000].”

She admitted that she “caused them a lot of grief because they did promote BLM so much.” Kelly was talking about the Black Lives Matter movement, which was making headlines at the time. Bravo has not responded to Kelly’s claims.

Kelly infamously wore the “Drunk Wives Matter” hat before her wedding boy to Rick Levanthal last fall. She even wore the hat on social media. The former Bravo star took to Instagram to share a selfie of herself wearing the hat while thanking her friends for throwing the party.

Kelly later took down the photo and apologized for her post. At the time, she was planning her wedding to the former Fox News contributor. She already got heat for their relationship as well as her comments about COVID-19. What was the final straw was her feud with Braunwyn Windham-Burke, which cost them both their jobs.
