Isabel Roloff Blasted For Using Mateo As A ‘Prop’
Is Isabel Roloff using her new baby, Mateo, as a “prop?” After she shared a recent photo on social media, fans and critics took to Reddit to discuss it.
Now, she’s on blast over how she posts her son on social media. Before Mateo arrived in early December, Isabel and her husband, Little People, Big World alum Jacob Roloff, spoke about their decision to give him a private life. Jacob was raised on his family’s TLC show, and he has been in the public eye since. So, they have taken a different route for their own son.
They decided they would only post photos of him that don’t reveal his identity. So, when they share pictures online, they do so in a way where his face isn’t visible. They have posted photos of his little hands and feet. Another photo featured a block of text covering the baby’s body.
Some fans don’t understand this decision and wish they could see pictures of the baby online. Of course, it’s ultimately up to Isabel and Jacob how they raise their son. But now, fans and critics are questioning the way they have gone about this and wonder if it’s drawing even more attention to them on social media.
Isabel Roloff using Mateo as a ‘prop?’
On Instagram on Tuesday, Isabel revealed that Mateo was experiencing his very first snow. To commemorate the special moment, she took a picture. In the snap, Isabel is standing outside and holding Mateo up in front of her.
But their backs are to the camera, so the baby’s face and Isabel’s face aren’t visible. The little guy is wearing a warm and cozy bear suit while looking at the snow.
On Reddit, Little People, Big World fans and critics are discussing the new photo. One writes, “After claiming they would not put their baby on SM (which was commendable) that’s all they’ve been doing since his birth to increase engagement on SM. They’ve been using their baby boy as a prop, and when people show interest, they put them on blast.”
Another user mentions that it seems like Jacob and Isabel are posting these photos for more attention. They write, “It’s that they want to protect his privacy, which is perfectly fine, but then they show the back of the kid just to generate attention and comments so that Jacob could say something nasty as he always does.”
So, do you think that Isabel Roloff is using her baby as a “prop?” Or do you think she and Jacob Roloff are posting him online the right way to maintain his privacy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. For more news about LPBW, come back to TV Shows Ace.
