Has Netflix Renewed ‘Outer Banks’ For Season 3? What We Know
Fans of the popular teen drama series Outer Banks have been waiting for news about its renewal by Netflix for a third season. Outer Banks on Netflix
The teen drama series Outer Banks has had two successful seasons on Netflix and fans are yearning for more. As per the Netflix synopsis, the series tells the story of an island of haves and have-nots. On the island, teenage John B enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure. He believes the treasure is linked to his father’s disappearance.
Season 1 of the show premiered in April 2020 and was an instant hit, with Season 2 dropping in July 2021. The show was nominated for four awards at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards, including The Bingeworthy Show of 2021. Outer Banks lost out on the latter award to that other viral hit, Squid Game. However, Stokes did win the award for The Drama TV Star of 2021 for his role as John B.
Outer Banks renewed for Season 3?
The good news is that Netflix made an announcement on Tuesday, letting fans know that Outer Banks has, indeed, been renewed for Season 3. In their Twitter post, multiple cast members were seen to be celebrating the renewal, with each appropriately holding up three fingers.

Fans will recall Season 2 aired in July, so news of the renewal has been a long time coming. This is likely why the cast was so excited, they put together a video to celebrate the good news.
In the video, we can see Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow and more. Stokes yells excitedly, “All the way from Poguelandia, I’ve got incoming news.” He adds, “Season 3 baby! We’re coming back, Season 3.” Bailey adds, “Back like we never left.”
Meanwhile, Daviss and Pankow celebrate by jumping into a pool together. For her part, Carlicia Grant (Cleo) yells, “See you in Poguelandia, baby!”

When will Season 3 drop on Netflix?
