Netflix Series ‘Man Vs. Bee’ Starring Rowan Atkinson: Details, Release Date
The incomparable British comedian Rowan Atkinson is about to star in a new Netflix series titled Man vs. Bee. Readers will remember him from such classic funnies as Mr. Bean, Blackadder and Johnny English. Now, Atkinson will star in a new comedy series for the streamer. Rowan Atkinson in the Netflix series Man vs. Bee
Netflix is having great success with its comedy content and is now launching a brand new comedy series, Man vs. Bee. While fans know him as the star of Mr. Bean, Johnny English and Blackadder, Rowan Atkinson is set to star in 10-part Netflix series.
The new comedy series will reunite Atkinson with his longtime collaborator and writer William Davies. The duo previously worked together on the Johnny English trilogy, while Davies also worked on Train Your Dragon and Puss in Boots.
Meanwhile, David Kerr will direct the series, who also directed Johnny English Strikes Again. He is known for his work on episodes of Fresh Meat, Inside No. 9, That Mitchell and Webb Look. Meanwhile, Chris Clark is set to executive produce the series, with Karl Oskarsson on cinematography.
The production company behind the series is HouseSitter Productions, which was established in the UK in May 2020. Chris Clark and Rowan Atkinson are both listed as directors for the company.
Synopsis and cast of Man vs. Bee
So far, plot details for the Netflix series are few and far between. However, we do know that a man finds himself at war with a bee while house-sitting a luxurious mansion. Who will win and what irreparable damage will be done in the process?
As for the cast, so far we know that Rowan Atkinson will lead the new Netflix series. Meanwhile, another cast member is Julian Rhind-Tutt, known for his role in The Witcher.
Production status of the Netflix series
Filming for Man vs. Bee was carried out during the summer of 2021 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, northeast of London. Filming also took place in Bovingdon, Hertfordshire. Following this, the Netflix series is now in post-production as of November 24, 2021.

Metro describes the scenes as Atkinson’s character giving his onscreen daughter a hug during a scene shot in prison. Meanwhile, his fellow cast member Rhind-Tutt looks like he is being escorted from a courthouse by policemen.
Release date for Man vs. Bee
Each episode of the 10-episode series Man vs. Bee will have a runtime of 10 minutes, similar to the short runtime of Mr. Bean. So far, the streamer hasn’t announced a release date for the new Netflix series. However, as filming is concluded and episodes are short, we can likely expect an early 2022 release.
