Netflix K-Drama ‘Our Beloved Summer’ Season 1: Release Date, Details

As K-drama movies and series become even more popular on Netflix, the latest news is that Season 1 of Our Beloved Summer is coming. The streamer will air weekly episodes of the SBS young adult drama in December. Read on to find out more about the new K-Drama series, including the plot, trailer and cast.

Our Beloved Summer K-Drama on Netflix

The new internationally licensed Netflix K-Drama Our Beloved Summer comes from South Korean public broadcaster, SBS. The series is written by Lee Na Eun and directed by Kim Yoon Jin. The series will have a total of 16 episodes, each around 70 minutes in length.

Meanwhile, episodes will be released on Netflix twice weekly, starting on Monday, December 6th, 2021. The series will run for a total of eight weeks, with the finale airing on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

In the plot of Our Beloved Summer, Choi Woong and Gook Yeon Soo experience a terrible breakup. In fact, they hope to never see each other again. However, they starred in a documentary together, filmed in high school 10 years ago. Meanwhile, when the documentary resurfaces and gains popularity, this forces the former couple back in front of the camera.

About the cast of the K-Drama

The four leads of Our Beloved Summer are Choi Woo Shik as Choi Woong, who previously starred in The Boy Next Door, Someday and Ho Goo’s Love. Kim Da Mi plays Gook Yeon Soo and is known for Itaewon Class, Marionette and The Witch. Meanwhile, Kim Sung Chul plays Kim Ji Woong, star of Do You Like Brahms?, Vincenzo and Arthdal Chronicles. The role of NJ is played by Roh Jeong Eui of 18 Again, Live Up to Your Name and The Great Show.

Among the supporting cast, Park Jin Joo plays Lee Sol Yi and has been seen in It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Encounter and Her Private Life. Meanwhile, Jeon Hye Won plays the role of Jung Chae Ran and is known for True Beauty, A Poem a Day and Kiss Goblin. The role of Chi Sung is played by Park Do Wook of Love with Flaws, Once Again and Memorist fame. Meanwhile, Jung Kang Hee, known for Your Honor, Doctor Detective and Just Between Lovers, plays Chang Shik.

Other cast members include Yoon Sang Jung, who has previously starred in You Are My Spring, as Ji Ye In. Meanwhile, Eun Ho is played by Ahn Dong Goo of Sweet Home, The Wind Blows and Soul Mechanic fame. Lee Seung Woo plays Im Tae Hoon and is known for Hush, Racket Boys and The Game: Towards Zero. Last, but not least, Lee Seon Hee plays Lee Min Kyung and has previously starred in Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, When the Weather Is Fine and 100 Days My Prince.
