Netflix ‘Virgin River’: Will The Show Be Renewed For Season 4?

Fans of the popular series have been waiting impatiently to hear whether Netflix will confirm Season 4 of Virgin River. Meanwhile, filming has been ongoing on the series since the end of July 2021. However, despite it being clear that filming is ongoing, the streaming channel has still not confirmed whether there will be a fourth season.

Before looking at the potential for Season 4 to happen on Netflix, here is a quick recap about the series. The drama series Virgin River is an adaptation of the series of novels by writer Robyn Carr. The story focuses on Mel, a young midwife and nurse practitioner, who moves from the big city to a small rustic Northern Californian town.

Over the three seasons of Virgin River, fans have seen Mel meeting plenty of different people throughout the town. Meanwhile, she is laying down her roots and experiencing plenty of drama along the way.

Season 3 ended with Mel being pregnant, while the father of her baby has yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, Brady is in trouble after he is arrested for the shooting of Jack at the end of Season 2.

As for Hope, she should be back in Season 4, while she was absent for the majority of Season 3. This was mostly due to her being unable to travel during the pandemic. Meanwhile, the script covered her absence by saying she was visiting her aunt in another state.

Will the series be renewed for Season 4?

Currently, the official renewal status is “Not yet renewed.” However, while Netflix has yet to confirm the fourth season, it is known that filming is already underway. In fact, What’s On Netflix received word that filming was to start at the end of July 2021.

Another hint about filming came from the Watershed Grill, which serves as a location for the bar in Virgin River. Judging by a post they made to Instagram, filming was taking place in the bar on August 17 and 18, 2021. Moreover, additional filming happened at the same venue between August 30 and September 2.

Their followers weren’t easily fooled, with one writing, “I hope Virgin River season 4.” Meanwhile another wrote, “Filming season 4,” with a series of praying emojis.

When would Season 4 of Virgin River air?

If Netflix does renew the series for Season 4, when can we expect it to air? We need to bear in mind that filming is taking place early, meaning we shouldn’t have a huge wait for the new season. However, fans probably shouldn’t expect it to happen this year. It is far more likely that Season 4 will release in 2022, probably somewhere between April and July.
