‘Tiger King’ Season 2 Release Details Removed From Netflix
Fans of the Netflix docuseries, Tiger King, have been waiting impatiently for Season 2 to happen. Around February 2021, word had spread that the second season had been filming in 2020 and into 2021. At first, it was thought that Season 2 would release in spring this year, but this didn’t happen. Now it seems there is better news about the documentary series about a murder-for-hire zookeeper.
About Tiger King on Netflix
Anyone who has been following the Joe Exotic story knows about the famous zookeeper. Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage is known professionally as Joe Exotic. He also bears the nickname “The Tiger King.” Exotic is a convicted felon who operated the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma from 1998 to 2018.
While keeping and caring for a whole load of big cats and other exotic wildlife, Joe had another job. He was found to be a murderer for hire and he is currently languishing in prison. This is despite a huge fan campaign to give him a presidential pardon. That campaign even got as far as the White House Press Room, but Joe had no luck and remains behind bars.
In the meanwhile, several of the zoos under Joe’s name have shut down. On top of this, a number of the staff members at the zoos have since moved on. However, there is still a huge story to be told, carrying on from the docuseries that hit the world at the start of the pandemic. Hence, fans have been impatiently waiting for Season 2 to arrive.
Season 2 details dropped from Netflix
Netflix had originally released details on its website of Season 2, but these details disappeared. This was despite the fact that filming had been ongoing through 2020 and into 2021. Some of the stars of the docuseries had mentioned the second season in Cameo videos. While at first, the series was thought to be released in the spring, this was revised to later in 2021. One of the stars of the show, John Reinke, had originally spoken of Season 2, saying it was coming “pretty soon.”
However, after all the speculation, Netflix has since listed Tiger King 2 on their website, which looks likely to stream imminently. While the streaming channel has yet to officially confirm the second season, it is, indeed, coming.
Netflix normally posts notices around a month prior to the release date. In that case, it could be likely that Tiger King 2 will release in September 2021. However, as noted by What’s on Netflix, the notice on its website has since disappeared. This fact likely means that someone released the news a little prematurely.
In the meanwhile, Joe Exotic himself made an Instagram post on Sunday. His caption reads, “The truth will shock every politician and citizen in this country.”
Not to worry, however, as we are sure to get an official announcement from Netflix in the near future. As soon as we know the release date, you will know too.
