’90 Day Fiance’ Stars Jenny And Sumit Under COVID-19 Lockdown In India
As everyone knows, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way runs a few months behind reality. In the episode of Sunday, November 8, we see Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh heading into quarantine due to COVID-19. Moreover, the couple taped their own episode while in self-isolation. We also find out that Sumit’s parents are still not happy to give their approval for their marriage.
90 Day Fiance stars Jenny and Sumit
In recent episodes, Sumit’s former wife had tried to get alimony payments out of him. However, eventually, fans were pleased to hear his divorce had gone through with no problems. At the start of Sumit and Jenny’s segment on Sunday’s episodes, we see them happy over the divorce. However, as Chef Sumit starts cooking her breakfast, he admits that his parents are still a problem. Despite this, Singh tells Jenny they will go ahead and have their ring ceremony and officially become engaged. However, another delay looms.
The timing at during March this year, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Indian Government declared a 21-day national lockdown. This was to limit the movement of India’s 1.3 billion people, in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
During the episode, the mood changes and we see Sumit walking the empty streets at night, wearing a mask. He said everything was closed and dark. It turns out Sumit suffers from diabetes and is thus in a high-risk category. Sumit said Jenny was also in the high-risk category because she is “old.” He did say it was lucky there was a hospital close by, just in case they need it.
Sumit and Jenny self-isolating
The couple filmed themselves inside their home in India while they quarantine together. While as many of us know, it isn’t pleasant living in lockdown in your home, Sumit and Jenny are coping. In fact, they appear to be having a lot of fun together, playing games and getting to know each other better.
The only major problem for Jenny is that her visa will soon run out. She needs to marry to be able to stay in India, but all courthouse weddings have ceased during the pandemic. Jenny truly worries that India will not extend her visa under the circumstances.
While Jenny and Sumit’s relationship appears to be thriving, despite everything, fans wonder if they will ever be able to marry. Besides the coronavirus quarantine, there is still the problem of Sumit’s parents. As noted by Screen Rant, they refuse to approve his union with an older American woman. We just have to hope they do eventually change their minds.
In the meantime, fans can keep up with Jenny and Sumit’s relationship. Tune into 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way on TLC on Sundays at 8 pm EST.
