Celebs & Fans Reach Out To Sandy Yawn After Recent Loss
Sandy Yawn of Bravo’s Below Deck series sounds terribly heartbroken after a recent bereavement. Lots of reality TV celebs turned out and sent in their thoughts and condolences. And, sadly, in the lower half of her post, Captain Sandy revealed that the death related to an addiction problem.

Taking to her Instagram on Friday night, Sandy revealed the death of a close relative. She wrote, “today we lay to rest my niece Jessi. Alcoholism took her life. She was 39 years young and our hearts are broken!” Then after that, she shared numbers for help for addictions. Below Deck, fans poured in their loving thoughts and prayers for Sandy during this difficult time.
Plenty of reality TV celebs also responded. Southern Charm‘s Barry Smith commented, “So sorry 🙏🏾.” And, Real Housewives of Orange County star Brauwnyn Windham-Burke said something caring and nice. She wrote, “I’m so sorry Sandy, I’m always here if you need anything.” Then, along came Real Housewives of Dallas star Kary Brittingham. She commented, “Oh no I’m so sorry Sandy [Yawn] 🙏🙏 Praying for your family ❤️.”

Bravo reporter and host, Paul Zahn also reacted. As did D’Andra Simmons. She said, “Sandy, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sending much love your way. 🙏❤️” Many more names cropped up, and universally, they all seem genuinely sad and supportive of Captain Sandy. Fans also chipped in, and one wrote, ” So sorry for your loss. I lost my brother last month at 50 to the same. Truth is, we lose nearly 100k people annually due to complications from excessive alcohol abuse.”
This sad bereavement brings to mind Sandy’s reaction on Below Deck Med when she fired Hannah. Recall, she ended up fired for “unregistered Valium and a CBD pen.” While some fans thought that Sandy Yawn went over the top, possibly her own family addictions made her aware of the danger of potential addictions. Mind you, Kate Chastain also mentioned that because of the laws, Sandy really had no other choice.

Alcohol kills
Sandy’s niece died young at the age of 39. And, that makes it even more tragic. But alcohol can be deadly. Alcohol Rehab Guide explains that “Alcohol kills people every day throughout the world.” And, they note that death comes in diverse ways from the addicting substance. These include “alcohol poisoning, cancer, car accidents, heart failure, liver damage, and violence.” And, none of those sound like pleasant ways to leave this planet.
So, if you know someone who needs help, follow the advice of Sandy Yawn. She wrote in her post, “If you are suffering, or someone in your family is from addiction please call 1-855-905-3334.”
