‘Married At First Sight’ Reunion: Karen Opens Up Why Miles’ Instagram Was A Red Flag
On the Married at First Sight episode of October 28, Karen and Miles decided to stay married. When the couple appeared on the Reunion episode of October 29, Karen opened up about her doubts. During the premiere of the Lifetime reality show, the 30-year-old revealed she had discovered Miles’ identity before the show. She went on to explain why she almost didn’t go through with the wedding.
Married at First Sight’s Karen and Miles
Due to the fact that Karen knew Miles’ identity before the show started, she was able to view his Instagram. She said while doing so, it was immediately clear that Miles, 26, was not her “type.” This gave her pause and she very nearly didn’t walk down the aisle.
During the reunion on October 29, Karen opened up about her doubts. She said she was “freaking out,” but not only because she knew who Miles was. In fact, Karen’s first reaction was that Miles shares more than she’s comfortable with. “So, in my mind, I’m like, ‘Am I making the biggest mistake of my life?’” Karen said it was a very emotionally overwhelming moment, but she still wanted love. She still wanted to find her happy ending, so she walked down that aisle.
Karen had her guard up with Miles
While Karen did go ahead and marry Miles, she had her guard up throughout the season. However, she says she wouldn’t do anything differently. She explained that she doesn’t feel like she was closed off, but is more reserved.
The Lifetime reality star said at the end of the day, she has to be true to herself. First and foremost, she needs to ensure she is comfortable. In the clip on the US Weekly website, she said, “It’s one of those things that you can never really be prepared for. I thought it would be 10 times easier than when I originally signed up. The truth is, you don’t know fully, everything that you’re getting until you’re in that seat yourself.”
Married at First Sight’s Karen and Miles staying together
During Wednesday’s finale episode, Karen and Miles revealed they had a tough journey connecting, both emotionally and physically. However, their time together under quarantine worked to bring them closer.
While it was hard, Miles told Karen, “I’m glad that we went on this journey together. I could not have asked to have been paired with a more patient, caring person.” He said he thinks they have legitimate concerns and reasons why they could say no. However, Miles didn’t want to, he wanted to say yes. This is because of what they have seen over the last three or four weeks.
All along, the pair struggled to connect, with neither of them sure their needs could be met by the other. Karen was very closed up, which led Miles to worry she would never become physically or emotionally intimate with him. This was especially so, as they haven’t had sexual relations yet.
Karen retorted, “Are we necessarily where I want to be in a marriage? No.” However, due to the growth of their relationship over the final few weeks, the couple decided to stay together. Miles told his reluctant bride, “I’ve seen you trust me and lean on me and want to know what’s possible.”
Congratulations to Karen and Miles for deciding to stay together! While Season 11 of Married at First Sight is officially over, fans can look forward to Season 12, which will be available starting in January on the Lifetime Channel.
