Olga Koshimbetova made an update on Instagram on Monday, October 26 to make a “small update.” In the post, she said she has finally received a letter with the date for her interview for her green card. The date is at the end of November and she says she has been waiting for this news for 166 days. This announcement comes two weeks after her estranged husband, Steven Frend announced their split.
Olga went on to say that for the past few days, she has felt so alive. She started dreaming again and making plans. The TLC reality alum is also working on her Photoshop skills. Olga said, “I would say I saw a ‘light at the end of the tunnel,’ finally things started moving and changing.”
Olga and her green card
The fact that Olga and Steven had split could have made things complicated for the Russian beauty. In order for her to be eligible for a green card, Steven, 22, would have had to submit an affidavit of support, to be kept on file. Despite their split, he is probably still committed to sponsoring Olga in America, for her to be able to stay there with their two-year-old son, Alex.
Despite the split, the couple appears to be getting along well. They both spent time together with young Alex on October 17. Olga and Alex watched as Steven enjoyed skateboarding in his neighborhood of Bowie, Maryland.
Steven and Olga’s breakup
Olga and Steven first met in 2017 when she was on summer vacation in the US. They tried a long-distance relationship for a while. However, but after only dating for a month and a half, Olga found out she was pregnant. Despite the problems they faced, the couple tied the knot in August 2019.
As noted by In Touch, Steven made the announcement of his split from Olga on October 10, following one year of marriage. He went on to explain that people keep asking if they are together. Frend said the answer was that they went into the relationship “super blindly.”
He pointed out that 90 Day Fiance left a lot of the story out, that confused viewers. However, he says they have learned a lot about each other during their journey. Steven believes they are better at being co-parents to their son. Steven closed by saying they are “both civil and cause no drama” as their son’s mental health is a top priority.
It is sad their romantic relationship didn’t last. However, fans are pleased to know that Olga and Steven have had a friendly split. It is clear they both wish to focus on the welfare of their young son, Alex.
