’90 Day Fiancé’ Star Kalani Accuses Asuelu Of ‘Buying’ Family’s Affections

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? stars Kalani Faagata, 32, and Asuelu Pula, 24, seem to always be arguing. On the episode on Sunday, August 2, the pair were having a fight about money. As they decide to visit Asuelu’s mom and his siblings, he insists they need to take gifts. However, he and Kalani couldn’t agree on what was appropriate. He wanted to spend too much, while she said he was trying to buy the family.

90 Day Fiancé’s Kalani and Asuelu traveling again

Asuelu is feeling homesick right now, so the 90 Day Fiancé stars decide to travel to Washington to see his family. The father-of-two tells Kalani it is customary to take presents, either monetary or otherwise when visiting the family. However, when they go shopping, they have problems picking out something suitable together.

Kalani is thinking of the family budget, while Asuelu just seems to grab anything without looking at the price. The TLC reality star tells her husband to “tone it down” and think about the budget. However, this doesn’t work, as it ends up with them fighting again over money. For one thing, Kalani asks Asuelu why they would take the family money if they are already taking gifts?

Money issues in the TLC reality family

This isn’t the first time the couple has clashed over cash, especially relating to Asuelu’s job and how he spends his free time away from work. However, the same issues come up again as he suggests to Kalani they should give his family $1,000. Asuelu goes on to say this would come from his own pocket, but Kalani doesn’t believe this.

Kalani responds, saying “on what planet?” Moreover, she goes on to explain to Asuelu that this sum of money is equal to one month’s work for her husband. She believes a gift along the lines of $50 – $100 at most would be suitable. Asuelu is left totally flabbergasted at this and they just can’t see eye to eye. Speaking of his mother and siblings, Kalani’s concern is that Asuelu is trying to buy his family’s love.

 90 Day Fiancé stars Kalani and Asuelu reach Washington

After the argument over gifts and money, Kalani and Asuelu finally reach Washington. However, as noted by In Touch, things didn’t calm down as they immediately have another argument. This time, they were arguing about whether to head straight to Asuelu’s family’s home or rest up and go there in the morning. Kalani wants to stay in, and while Asuelu didn’t agree, they did so.

The couple had agreed to be a team over the family visit, especially after the disastrous California trip. However, this wasn’t to be, as again, they appear to be heading into trouble.
