’90 Day Fiancé’s’ Big Ed Says The Show Is Not Scripted, It Is The Real Him
Many fans and critics of 90 Day Fiancé believe the TLC show is “scripted.” They think the cast members are acting out roles. A number of fans have particularly targeted Ed Brown, or Big Ed as he is known. His uncomfortable scenes with his Filipina girlfriend, Rose Vega, lead to criticism and controversy. Despite this, Ed, 54, tells fans that what they are watching is the true drama, as it happens. This includes those scenes where he upsets both Rose and their fans alike. No acting is involved.
90 Day Fiancé star says it like it is
Big Ed was interviewed by Stephen Kramer Glickman on The Night Time Show podcast on May 9. During that interview, Ed insists that “everything I did is just who I am.” Ed goes on to admit that he isn’t really bright and says he doesn’t always say the right things.
Big Ed connected with Rose Vega, 23, on Facebook. Soon after that, he was on a flight to the Philippines to meet her. Ed said when he met her, Rose suddenly became someone real. “Like real. Like wow.” Ed admitted he went and bought the plane ticket, despite the fact he didn’t have permission to take time off work. He didn’t care – he bought the ticket and jumped on the plane to go and meet her.
Many people, including Big Ed’s own daughter, Tiffany, believe he is too old for Rose. However, all along, the TLC reality star is saying the age gap is not an issue. Rose herself has often said, “age is just a number.” Big Ed says he has never thought of Rose as being a “young girl.” To him, she is a single mother who he wants to help.
Rose blasts Ed in an Instagram Live
On April 23, Rose posts an Instagram Live video (since deleted), where she blasts Ed. In it, she says he embarrasses her and continues to spread lies. Rose says these lies hurt her reputation. Big Ed had lied by omission before they met about his small stature. On arrival in the Philippines, the 90 Day Fiancé star hurt Rose’s feelings by asking her to get an STD test. While having a “romantic” massage in his hotel room, he insults Rose by telling her to shave her legs.
As noted by In Touch, following on from the Instagram Live, Ed can be heard telling Rose in a new episode that her “breath is not pretty.” He gives her a toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash to clear up the problem.
Does the 90 Day Fiancé star regret his comments?
When asked if he regrets his comments, Ed says, sometimes, he can’t believe he said that. When speaking of the STD test, he asks himself, “Why did I say that?” Big Ed says his heart is in the right place, but he didn’t handle things correctly. He said this is just one of many times he hasn’t done things right.
On the May 3 episode of 90 Day Fiancé it looks like Rose has finally given up on Ed and dumped him. This is after the reality star said he didn’t want more children, He told Rose he is planning on getting a vasectomy. In the meanwhile, Rose is still young and wants to have a brother or sister for her four-year-old son. Fans now wonder if this couple could ever work out.
