Recently, two unnamed sources told Variety that Julianne Hough left AGT because of a toxic environment. According to the sources, she received a lot of criticism during her time on America’s Got Talent. The sources said she was criticized for her hair, makeup, and wardrobe.

This criticism came from staffers at the show creating a tense work environment. Julianne was on Season 14 of the competition reality show and last week it was announced she and Gabrielle Union had been cut from the show. Fans of the show know the judges have cycled out a few times.

Fortunately, Julianne Hough was quick to issue a denial that there wasn’t anything like that going on while she was a judge. She said, “I had a wonderful time on America’s Got Talent. I loved working with the cast, crew and producers.”

Fans can expect Simon Cowell, the host Terry Crews, and Howie Mandel to return next season.

Julianne Hough Is Continuing Her Relationship With NBC

She will be continuing her relationship with NBC. The thirty-one-year-old has a show with her brother Derek Hough called Holidays with the Houghs. They promise lots of music and some fun surprises. It kind of puts fans in the mind of a Donnie and Marie Osmond Special. She also will be appearing in the annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center program. She says she’s looking forward to what the future holds.

According to US Weekly, Gabrielle Union had told the producers of the show to report an offensive joke. The guest star Jay Leno told a joke about Simon Cowell’s dogs being on the menu at a Korean restaurant. They cut her despite not airing the joke, according to the alleged source. There were reports of Gabrielle Union taking offense to criticism of her hair and other things she felt were racially motivated.

NBC Responds To The Allegations Of Criticism And Tension

NBC responded to the negative claims surrounding letting the two judges go. Also, they claimed they would not have let  Julianne Hough be criticized, because they take these problems seriously.

They said, “America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity. The judging and host lineup has been regularly refreshed over the years and that is one of the reasons for AGT’s enduring popularity.”
