‘Good Morning America’ Host Isn’t Renewing Contract, Leaves Show
News has come out that one member of the Good Morning America crew could soon be leaving the show. A source has even weighed in on the story, as fans wonder what could happen next. This comes out as viewers have seen quite a few figures depart from the show in recent years.
The Announcement Was Originally Shared In A Newsletter
Good Morning America, commonly known as GMA, serves as ABC’s morning show. The series made its debut in 1975, filming out of various New York City studios over the years.
Over the years, viewers have seen a number of anchors on the show, as well as its Saturday and Sunday shows. Recently, news has come out that one such host will soon be stepping away from the show.
Janai Norman has been a weekend co-anchor on the show for nearly four years. However, reports have come out that she has decided not to renew her contract.
The news was first reported in a Status newsletter. As it read, “ABC News’ Janai Norman is out as co-anchor of the weekend edition of ‘Good Morning America,’ Status has learned.”
At this time, Norman’s last day with GMA has not been shared. Speaking with The Daily Mail, a source shared, “Her contract was up. There was a decision not to renew.”
Fans Have Also Seen A Few Other Figures Come & Go On Good Morning America In Recent Years
At this time, however, Norman has not made a statement about her departure. ABC has also not confirmed the news.
With the news just announced, it’s unclear what Janai’s next plans are. Some suspect that she could stay with ABC in some form, while others believe she could move on to another network. A replacement also hasn’t been announced for Norman at this time.
Norman first joined ABC as an intern in 2011. She first worked as a New York-correspondent for the network. She has also served as an anchor for World News Now and America This Morning.
Norman first joined Good Morning America Weekend as a co-anchor in 2022 alongside Whit Johnson and Eva Pilgrim. She also hosts Oh Baby!, a wildlife-themed show, for ABC.
