Wendy Williams In Denial Over New Diagnosis Vows To Reclaim Life
Wendy Williams has been in a forced guardianship for years. The former talk show host heads back to court this winter for another attempt at getting her life back. Sources close to her revealed the “simple pleasures” she’s looking forward to if given her freedom.
Wendy Williams Refuses To Stop Battling For Freedom
Wendy Williams has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022. She initially agreed to the guardianship amid fears of her finances. But she now wants out from under the control. Her family members are seeking to end the guardianship. They head back to court in November, but new details about her illness leaked recently.

The former talk show host is embroiled in a lawsuit with A&E over a documentary the network aired in 2024. Where Is Wendy Williams? detailed the cancellation of her daytime talk show and her rapid decline in health between 2022 and 2023.
As part of an agreement with A&E to put the lawsuit on hold for now, Wendy Williams had to undergo more tests to determine her mental fitness now. She was previously diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, in addition to the autoimmune disease, Graves’ disease.
The details of the results of the new tests haven’t been revealed. But the general belief is that the tests corroborate the previous diagnosis of dementia. Needless to say, that’s not what Wendy Williams or her supporters wanted to hear.
They were hoping that the test results would reveal that she was in perfect health and should be released from the guardianship.

Wendy Williams has been outspoken about wanting to end the guardianship. She was recently spotted out in New York City where she lives in an assisted living facility. She was dining out at the Tucci restaurant with her friend and restaurant owner, Max Tucci.
When approached by Page Six, Wendy Williams didn’t have much to say. She played coy and gave a shout out to her lawyers.
While the talk show host didn’t say much, her friends did. A source told Page Six, “She seems fine. She’s witty, and is getting healthier. It’s like old Wendy.”

In fact, Wendy Williams is already looking ahead at her life after the guardianship ends. She wants to reclaim her old life.
“Her focus is she wants out. She wants an apartment in New York. She wants to be back in society… to be able to go get bagels and lox, just the simple pleasures,” the insider revealed.
Wendy Williams did seem alert and healthy in the video shared by Page Six. Other photos showed her walking on her own with the help of Max Tucci. She was also photographed in the scooter she uses to get around.
