Sports analyst Michael Strahan has recently come under fire for not placing his hand over his heart during the national anthem on a televised appearance. However, Strahan has since returned to Fox Sports. This comes out amid fans calling for his termination from the series.

Michael Strahan Has Also Returned To Good Morning America

Strahan appeared on his regular spot during the recent Fox NFL Sunday show. Fox NFL Sunday also shared a clip on social media of Strahan and Howie Long discussing an upcoming game while the episode aired.

The TV personality also continued to make appearances of Good Morning America since the controversy. Strahan notably appeared on the Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday episodes of Good Morning America. He was absent for the Friday episode, likely due to travel concerns between the East and West Coast.

As noted by Monsters & Critics, Strahan did not discuss the controversy on the show. Instead he mostly joked with his co-hosts and discussed NFL games. At one point, Strahan made a joke about Mike Tyson’s recent fight with Jake Paul. After a co-host joked Paul has more wins than the Cowboys, Strahan replied, “You can fire shots like that you’re not playing anymore.”

Some Viewers Said They Were Switching Networks

On November 10, Strahan appeared among his colleagues at a special Veterans Day tribute show filmed at Naval Base San Diego. However, when the national anthem, Strahan stood with his hands below his waist while others held their hands over their hearts.

Since then, there has been outcry from fans who demanded Strahan be terminated from the show due to the action. In addition, Strahan came under fire once again after a video surfaced of him throwing a reporter’s phone after this came to light.

For his part, Strahan has spoken out about the controversy. Denying that it was meant as a form of protest, Strahan claimed the gesture was just a spur of the moment action.  He had also taken to Instagram to share a photo of his father,  Maj. Gene W. Strahan.

On social media, fans were also asking for an apology on the recent Sunday show. As one user wrote on X, “Are you going apologize to all our Veterans and the American people today on @NFLonFOX ?” Other viewers claimed they would be watching their NFL coverage on other networks.

Even after the Sunday show, Strahan did not escape controversy from viewers. As seen on the following Monday, some fans continued to criticize Strahan on social media and call for his termination from Fox Sports.
