‘America’s Got Talent’ Budget Issues Could End The Show

An insider is claiming that America’s Got Talent, or at least the way fans know it, is in danger of coming to an end. The show might not have the money to keep the current lineup of judges. However, some sources are sharing a different story.

Source Claims The Show’s ‘Future’ Is Uncertain

Simon Cowell serves as the show’s head judge, as well as an executive producer. Joining him on the judges’ panel are Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel.

The popular judges have helped the show nab its audience. However, that doesn’t mean their status on the show is secure.

The current lineup of judges might just be in danger thanks to budget cuts. In a discussion with Life & Style, an industry insider revealed that, “The future of the show is in turmoil and the brutal bottom line is that they don’t have the budget they used to have to afford these people.”

The insider noted that Simon is ultimately the one who controls the fate of the show, in addition to describing him as “a businessman first.” As they continued, “Simon is very clear the audiences tune in to see the acts, not the judges,”

However, instead of outright killing the show, this could also mean a new panel of judges. As the insider explained, “It’s very possible he could shake things up and hire all new players to sit at the table with him!”

There Could Be New Judges On The Horizon

“The show needs to cut back, so no one is getting the royal treatment anymore…What’s really concerning is Heidi, Sofía and Howie won’t come cheap, and the powers that be may have to bring on C-list talent if they can’t make a deal!”

Allegedly, there’s already some interest in possible replacement judges. Such names could include David Hasselhoff and Piers Morgan. However, the insider noted that “Everything is up in the air right now.” As they continued, “Everyone from producers to the lowliest production assistants are worried and hoping Simon can work his magic and find the money they deserve.”

Life & Style also suggested that the judges aren’t necessarily close in real life. As it was noted, “They don’t have much in common besides their jobs on America’s Got Talent and don’t share the same tastes in style, mannerisms and especially food!”

The publication noted that other insiders are sharing a different story. According to these opposing claims, time and money is spent on pleasing the judges. In other words, the acts aren’t the show’s priority.
