People have been obsessed with Law and Order since it first premiered on television a few decades back. Law and Order premiered in 1990 and went on for 24 seasons. Its spinoff, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit premiered in 1999 starring Mariska Hargitay in the leading role of Olivia Benson. Mariska just opened up about what viewers can expect in terms of celebrity cameos. Is it possible football star Travis Kelce will appear on the NBC drama sometime soon? Here’s what you should know.

Travis Kelce’s Cameo On Law And Order?

Mariska spoke with Entertainment Tonight on October 4 to answer questions about Travis potentially showing up for an episode of the show. She spoke of the tight end from the Kansas City Chiefs saying, “I heard through the grapevine that he is a fan of the show. I think both brothers are.” She revealed that she received a few story ideas that would potentially incorporate Travis into the show.

Still, nothing has been officially confirmed. Mariska might’ve heard through the grapevine that Travis is a fan of Law and Order, and the rumors are true. In fact, he talked about it openly during an episode of the New Heights podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce. Jason said, “We watched enough Law and Order [growing up] that I think we got addicted to anything crime-related.”

Travis responded with, “Honestly, if Law and Order is on, I’ll just sit there for, like, five minutes and if I catch on, I am just there for an hour.” Law and Order: SVU has pulled in an 8.1 out of 10-star rating on IMDb. There’s no way the show would’ve lasted this long if it wasn’t offering quality entertainment. If focuses on a special squad within the NYPD that goes out of their way to investigate any crimes of a sexual nature. That includes human trafficking, domestic violence, rape, and the sexual abuse of minors.

Fans Have Thoughts About Travis Kelce’s Acting Skills

Would Travis fit in well on the show? He’s already dipping his toes into an acting career as we speak. He made his television debut in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie on October 2. To be a successful actor, you’ve got to memorize lines and come across as believable on screen. Some would argue that Travis is pulling it off well, while others are more convinced that Travis should stick to the football field:

  • ”Show is good but [Travis] CANNOT act. No inflection in his voice. Barely any facial expression changes. Also just finished episode 4 and I have no idea where this show is going.”
  • ”Tried to watch from a non-hater standpoint (lol). He’s just dull and robotic. It’s like Travis was playing Travis. Can definitely tell he is NOT an actor.”
  • “‘Miss Sassy Pants.’ Fix it, Jesus. He is AWFUL.”
