Is love in the air for Hoda Kotb? Now that she’s retiring from The Today Show, her schedule is about to be a lot more open and unrestricted. Hoda is a single mom of two little girls who’s on the lookout for a new romance. Without the intense schedule she once had to honor as a news anchor, the world is her oyster when it comes to seeking out new relationships. Here’s what you should know about Hoda’s readiness to re-enter the dating scene at age 60.

Hoda Kotb Is Ready To Find Love

Hoda adopted her daughters in 2017 and 2019 with her ex-fiance. As of this publication, Hope is 5 and Haley is 7. Hoda’s eight-year relationship with her ex-fiance, Joel Schiffman, came crashing down in 2022. She’s been single for a couple of years, and now that she’s no longer appearing on The Today Show, finding true love is definitely on her radar. A source told The Sun, “She wants a boyfriend, she wants to be able to date, she wants to have that in her life.”

Prior to her relationship with Joel, Hoda was also married to a man named Burzis Kanga from 2005 until 2008. The love story between Burzis and Hoda wasn’t built to last for a slew of reasons. For starters, Burzis wasn’t a fan of living in New York City with her.

A decade after they broke up, he told Radar Online, “I was not used to the big city I guess. New York can be overwhelming. I’ve lived in New Orleans for 30 years now. This is my home.” He also mentioned the stress of Hoda’s breast cancer diagnosis along with his father’s illness at the time of their divorce to the outlet. He said:

“We had some differences. My father was ill. She was ill. It was a difficult time. Those were personal reasons for both of us. The divorce happened under difficult conditions. Those were personal reasons for both of us. In hindsight, there was a level of immaturity on my part, mistakes I made. It was unfortunate we were married for a short time. It’s a shame it transpired that way.”

Other Details About Hoda Kotb’s Love Life

We know why things didn’t work out with Burzis, but why did Hoda‘s relationship with Joel fail also? On an episode of The Today Show in January 2022, Hoda explained, “We decided that we’re better as friends and parents than we are as an engaged couple.”

Hoda’s past relationships might not have worked out flawlessly, but that doesn’t mean her path is destined to remain that way.
