American Pickers isn’t back with a new season yet, but it is coming soon. With the premiere date being October 15, the show’s social media pages are posting older scenes and past deals. However, with one of the recent “deals,” many fans called out Jersey Jon for ripping someone off.

Here is what Jersey Jon bought and why fans feel it was a rip-off for the seller.

Jersey Jon Lowballs Seller On Ancient Antique

With American Pickers on the way back next month, the show has been sharing some clips. One of these saw Jersey Jon and Robbie Wolfe going to look at an antique car. They met up with the owner of a 1924 Ford Model T. However, the man wasn’t willing to sell it, calling it a family heirloom.

Once the man said the Ford Model T was no longer available to sell, Robbie and Jon went to look in the man’s shed to see what else they might have available. That is when Jersey Jon found something that really caught his eye. The item was a vintage siren. Jon said it was so big he couldn’t “wrap his head around the size of it.”

Jersey Jon pulled it out and saw it was a double-sided cast iron piece. It also had an electric motor from the 1920s. The man who owned it said his dad was part of a volunteer fire department, and the siren was once on top of the Richland Township Fire Hall.

That is when Jersey Jon commented that only a person with a “limited scope” would buy it. He offered $250 and then said he could only get $50 at a scrap yard. The seller countered with $400, and then they met halfway, and Jon bought it for $300.

Fans Say Jersey Jon Ripped Off Seller

Fans saw the post with the video clip on Facebook, and some pointed out that Jersey Jon had just ripped off the guy.

One commenter mentioned how much sirens usually cost, and one fan wrote that Jon was ripping the guy off. Similar sirens sell for over a thousand dollars. Recently, one was even sold for $1,400 at Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. Smaller fire horns also sell for $850 and more on eBay.

It will be interesting to see if the new American Pickers season will see Mike Wolfe, Robbie Wolfe, and Jersey Jon lowballing any more sellers as they travel across the country looking for antiques.

What are your thoughts about Jersey Jon and the American Pickers cast lowballing people and possibly ripping them off when it comes to the value of antiques? What do you want to see in the new season of the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
