Tom Selleck has openly criticized CBS for canceling his hit TV show Blue Bloods. However, it seems he has moved on. Recently, Selleck was seen out, and he looked almost unrecognizable from when fans last saw him on the hit police procedural.

Here is a look at Selleck and what might be next for the actor.

Tom Selleck Steps Out Looking Very Different

Tom Selleck spent most of the last decade starring in Blue Bloods. Of course, he played Police Commissioner Frank Reagan. As such, he was always dressed in uniform or at least close to it with a simple yet thick mustache. In a recent photo of the actor, he looked nothing like that.

Selleck, 79, was seen in Thousand Oaks, California, wearing a baggy black T-shirt, navy blue button-down shirt, and black athletic shorts. He also had on black socks and sneakers. Most notable was a gray bushy beard and messy grey hair. It was unlike Frank Reagan, and a huge departure from his days as Thomas Magnum on Magnum P.I.

It should also be noted that he was eating out at McDonald’s when the photo was taken. As such, he was just out for a relaxing quick meal, and there was no reason right now to get dressed up for anything. He looked relaxed, and that was what was important.

What Is Going On With Blue Bloods?

Tom Selleck has been very open about his displeasure with CBS canceling Blue Bloods. The show was still the highest-rated series on television on Friday nights. While he hoped CBS would come to its senses, the network doesn’t care how many people love a show if they can replace it with something new.

CBS revealed that they felt the need to freshen up the slate. With Fire Country becoming so popular, CBS decided to go all in on that as a franchise and eliminated the beloved Blue Bloods, believing fans would flock to the new franchise and forget about the one they spent the last decade watching.

Blue Bloods was one of many shows to be axed. CSI: Vegas and NCIS: Hawai’i also left the air. The same reasoning was given for those shows ending, with the network wanting to replace them with something new rather than rely on an already built-in fanbase.

CBS added Sheriff Country to the schedule, the spinoff of Fire Country. Deadpool star Morena Baccarin plays Sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr).

Selleck had no idea why CBS chose to make Blue Bloods one of the shows canceled. “We’re the third-highest show in all of broadcast,” he said. “We’re winning the night. All the cast wants to come back. I can tell you this: We aren’t sliding off a cliff; we’re doing good shows. And still holding out place. So I dunno. You tell me.”
