Matt Bomer Has ‘Fantastic’ News About ‘White Collar’ Revival
A White Collar revival is possibly coming, and one of the leads has some “fantastic news.” Matt Bomer has spoken up about the revival and explained what fans can expect from the possible upcoming series.
Here is what you need to know about the White Collar revival.
Matt Bomer Talks White Collar Revival Series
While the White Collar revival is not a sure thing yet, it sounds like there is a good chance it could end up getting made. Not only that, but Matt Bomer said that he had read the reboot script, and he called it “fantastic.”
“It’s fantastic, and it’s completely in line and in keeping with the show that we were able to do six seasons of,” Bomer said (via PEOPLE). “It really just feels like he was able to pick up the right where we left off.”
He called it “a really intelligent, fun, organic way to bring all the characters back together.” He also said the script included moments that paid tribute to actors like Willie Garson (Mozzie) and Diahann Carroll (June), who have died since the show ended. “It’s something that if you enjoyed the show, you really will have a good time watching it.”
Will White Collar Revival Get Made?
The network will have to decide if the White Collar revival script is worth putting the money into making. As far as Bomer is concerned, he is excited about the possibilities. He admits the decision is “above my pay grade and out fo my control,” but he wants to return to the series as Neal Caffrey.
He said that he would love to reunite with Tim DeKay (Peter Burke) and Tiffani Thiessen (Elizabeth Burke). “So much of that experience was just being with that group of people,” Bomer said. He admitted that DeKay is still one of his close friends, and it made the entire experience on the show before a “fun, free, open environment” to work.
White Collar ran for six seasons, premiering in 2009 and ending in 2014. Bomer said there would be sad moments, especially considering people like Garson has died. “I have only special memories of working with Willie,” Bomer said. “He made every day more fun.”
While seeing White Collar back would be great, Bomer’s fans can see him in Fellow Travelers. He earned an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. He plays Hawk, a State Department official hiding his sexuality. The show goes from the 1950s communist trials to the 1980s AIDS crisis.
For fans who want to catch up on White Collar, all six seasons are streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
