Tyra Banks’ Career On The Runway & Television
Most people will remember Tyra Banks from her time as the host of America’s Next Top Model. The iconic reality television show aired for more than 10 years, from 2003 to 2015. It was revived by VH1 in 2016, but came to an end once again in 2018. She also hosted her own show called The Tyra Banks Show from 2005 until 2010.
Her TV appearances didn’t stop there. Tyra also popped up on several television shows and movies, including Life Size with Lindsay Lohan, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Coyote Ugly. Eventually, she landed the hosting position on Dancing With The Stars. However, she has since been replaced by Julianne Hough.
Prior to appearing on television, Tyra was a Victoria’s Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005. People rarely saw her without full glam. She embodied her role as a supermodel wherever she went.
The America’s Next Top Model star started modeling at 15 years old. She became the first black woman to grace the cover of GQ and Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Issue.
Former DWTS Host Stuns In Recent Selfie
Since her time on Dancing With The Stars came to an end, Tyra Banks has kept a relatively low profile. Recently, she took to Instagram to share a makeup-free selfie. She looked different from the various television appearances many people will remember her from.
The 50-year-old TV Star and model smiled at the camera. She sported black glasses and a bare face. Her light brown hair was worn down and messy. A few strands even threatened to cover her blemish-free face.
She captioned the post, “Real life in real time.” Fans were eager to hop in the comments and show love for the former America’s Next Top Model host.
“Supermodel regardless,” one person commented. A second fan wrote, “Real queen!” while a third chimed in, “That’s why I always admire you, you keep it real in real time.”
Other comments told Tyra Banks that she was “fierce and beautiful” and “gorgeous and always slaying.”

Most recently, Tyra has been promoting her own ice cream shop, SMiZE & DREAM. It has two locations, one in Washington, D.C., and one in Dubai. The DC location opened on July 19. She has shared some of the various flavors they offer, including Pretty Pink Peanut Butter and You Got Bars.
