Meri Brown Shuts Down Trolls Over Child Leon’s Identity
Sister Wives star Meri Brown is not interested in listening to haters who have a problem with her child, Leon.
Although Leon Brown was once regularly part of Sister Wives, they have since stepped away from the show and want to stay out of the limelight. And after all the rude comments they received online, it’s not hard to see why.
Meri Brown typically grants Leon their privacy. But in a recent interview, the Sister Wives star defended her child and had some choice words for the trolls. See what she had to say.
Meri Brown Defends Leon’s Transgender Identity
Leon Brown publicly came out as transgender in the summer of 2022. They announced they would only answer to “Leon” or “Leo” from then on and would be using they/them pronouns.
Since the Browns come from such a strict, religious background, Leon’s move was incredibly brave. Many praised them for sharing their truth. However, internet trolls also spoke out again them. Leon’s mother Meri also received quite a bit of criticism and hate over it.

But no matter what, Meri is incredibly proud of her child. And she isn’t putting up with any horrible comments from strangers on the internet.
“The commentary that I get about Leon is very polarizing,” Meri explained during her recent appearance on The Sarah Fraser Show. “It’s just gonna be that way. I always appreciate the support, the comments of support I get, and obviously, I don’t appreciate the hate that comes at me.”
The Sister Wives star added that she doesn’t believe hate has “any purpose or any value.” Instead, Meri wants to focus on love and positivity.
The TLC Confirms She & Leon Are On Excellent Terms
In the past, Sister Wives fans have speculated that Meri and Leon have a strained relationship. Meri used to post about Leon and their partner Audrey Kriss regularly. But in recent years, Meri has spoken very little about her child.
And apparently, that’s on purpose.
“Leon and I have a good relationship and I don’t talk about them a lot because they want to remain private,” the TLC star revealed. She wouldn’t comment on Leon and Audrey’s plans for a family, since they want to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight. However, Meri did share she has “three granddogs” from the happy couple.
