Days Of Our Lives Ron Carlivati OUT As Head Writer

After seven years with Days of Our Lives, Ron Carlivati is out as the head writer. This is a shocking shift in the soap opera and what is an even bigger shocker is that it is effective immediately. According to Deadline, there will be two writers taking over for Carlivati. They will be Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford but his storylines will live on well into early 2025. He has written episodes up until April of next year so fans who have appreciated his writing will get to experience it for nearly another year.

When Bill Hayes’ final episode aired, fans were heartbroken. However, Ron Carlivati made it clear that they would see Bill once again for the show’s 15K episode. Airing in November 2024, it will focus much on Bill’s character, per Carlivati:

“People are aware that Bill Hayes passed away and that ultimately, we would write Doug Williams’ passing into the show and I decided to center our 15,000th episode around that.”

As for his replacements, they will be there for another pivotal and momentous occasion. That is Days of Ours Lives’ 60th anniversary. General Hospital just celebrated that milestone in early 2024 and they made sure to make it count. The ABC soap brought back fan favorite Steve Burton aka Jason Morgan who had also spent time on DOOL. Therefore, Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have a lot to live up to.
