Is Jenn Tran’s ‘Bachelorette’ Season Already Doomed?
Bachelorette Season 21 just started but some fans already think Jenn Tran’s season is doomed for several reasons. Keep reading to find out why and see if you agree.
Is Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette Season Already Doomed?
Season 21 of The Bachelorette just premiered but the drama started back in March when Jenn Tran was announced as the lead. Many fans couldn’t believe the network chose Jenn over Daisy Kent or Maria Georgas, who both got more air time on Season 28 of The Bachelor.
Maria Georgas fanned the flames by claiming she was the first choice but turned it down. Daisy Kent also said she turned it down, leading to speculation that Jenn Tran was the third choice. In fact, there were rumors that the Season 21 contestants were disappointed after arriving at the new mansion to find Jenn waiting and not one of the other options.
One Bachelor Nation fan took to Reddit days after Jenn Tran’s season premiered to express pity for her and speculated her season was doomed to fail in attracting viewers. Why?
The fan listed multiple reasons for their belief, starting with the fact that Love Island USA could be taking viewers away from The Bachelorette. The fan also pointed to the rumors about Jenn Tran allegedly being third choice as a reason why her season is doomed.
They also expressed disinterest in any of the suitors on Season 21, an opinion echoed by other Bachelor Nation viewers.
Some Fans Agree
The social media post got over 100 comments, with many Redditors agreeing that Jenn Tran’s season is destined to be a flop.
Check out what other viewers said:
- Maybe this is selective memory on my part, but it feels like production has always leaned into “lead disappointment” waaayyyy harder for female leads than they ever have for male leads.
- Love island is on every damn night lol
- She was 100000% not first choice this is just the narrative Bachelorette is trying to drive home. She didn’t even have her PR package done the night they announced her.. She was a try to scrap together a season quickly choice
- I have never seen an uglier group of men on a season. That makes me sad for her the most
- I think your first point is massive. I’ve watched basically every single season and this is the first time I’ve missed a premiere. Love island is way too good right now and I simply don’t have the time.
- I think Love Island USA is a bigger threat and is really popular this year. Also later this month, she will be up against three weeks of the Olympics. They really didn’t do her any favors with the schedule.
What The Ratings Say
According to TV Series Finale, 2.8 million viewers tuned in to the Season 21 premiere of The Bachelorette. That’s more than Charity Lawson’s season premiere last summer.
The numbers also aren’t too far off from Joey Graziadei’s Bachelor premiere in January 2024, which had 3.18 million viewers.
The ratings show that Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette got off to a great start. Do you think her season is doomed? Sound off in the comments.
