‘Family Feud’ Fans Blast Raunchy Answer On Wholesome Holiday

Family Feud: Steve Harvey

Family Feud fans have gone after Steve Harvey and producers over the game show being unnecessarily raunchy. Based on the most recent scenes, viewers had an even bigger bone to pick. So, what happened this time around?

Was Family Feud Ever A Wholesome Show?

Often these days, the cry from Family Feud fans is that the game show has gone far away from being a wholesome, family show. Granted, survey questions and responses do tend to have a particularly lewd lean these days. However, this begs the question of whether or not the game show was ever really wholesome family entertainment to begin with.

As longtime fans of Family Feud will remember, host Richard Dawson would kiss all of the female contestants in older episodes. While that somehow got a pass back in the day, there would absolutely be public outrage if someone like Steve Harvey tried doing this in current episodes.

Game Show Viewers Say Things Have Gone Too Far

There has been consistent outcry among Family Feud viewers over the program taking a raunchy turn. Of course, anyone who watches the show regularly can confirm that there is certainly some validity to this. Often, survey questions tend to have a noticeably lewd lean.

When the Family Feud survey questions start out in the gutter, it follows that the answers from players often follow a similar trajectory. While these types of questions and answers are the perfect formula for viral clips online, not everyone is happy with the turn this show has taken.

Even execs at the network have been worried about host Steve Harvey lately, as he has had a noticeably shorter fuse. So, overall, there are indeed valid reasons to be concerned.

Family Feud: Another Lewd Example Enrages Viewers?

Naturally, with the Fourth of July 2024 recently taking place, Family Feud had themed survey questions to be in line with the summer holiday.

Keeping with the holiday theme, host Steve Harvey asked players: “The Fourth of July has become a holiday where people gather to see who can eat the most what?”

One player quickly responded with: “Hot dogs.”

Not surprisingly, this was the number-one answer for this survey question. However, viewers took issue with the unnecessarily raunchy wording on the board. The answer popped up as “Plump Wieners.”

Of course, producers could have left the answer at “Hot Dogs” and called it a day. However, the way viewers see it, they took the extra step to make it raunchy. Not surprisingly, many fans called this out.

  • One Family Feud commenter said: “Plump weiners??? Ok cleary you tell me your pg when your not pg.”
  • Another commenter added: “Freaky Feud.”
