‘The Price Is Right’ Drew Carey Says Players Are Drunk, High On Set
The Price Is Right host Drew Carey has seen it all during his tenure, since taking over the reins from the legend, Bob Barker. Based on the latest revelations from Carey, there may be a surprising reason why the show is so high-energy and entertaining. So, what did he have to say?
The Price Is Right: Contestants Bring The Energy To The Show
When it comes to The Price Is Right, the players make the show. The high energy levels and enthusiasm are infectious, as they “come on down” to try to win big money and big prizes. As it turns out, it can be nerve-wracking to be in front of the bright lights.
For some The Price Is Right contestants, the pressure can be a lot. The anxiety rises, with the possibility of all the money at players’ fingertips. There’s also the fact that the cameras and the studio audience can be a lot for some.
Drew Carey Spills Tea On Drunk, High Participants?
According to the latest tea from The Price Is Right host, Drew Carey, certain players rely on a little extra something to get them through, and to help them deal with the cameras and bright lights. According to the famous host, some participants need a little bit of liquid courage before they make their way down to the stage.
Drew Carey recently said: “They’ll have a gummy, or I’ll smell alcohol on their breath Not unusual. There was a guy here that was tripping on mushrooms. I asked him what he did for a living. and he goes ‘I’m a skateboarding rabbi.’ He didn’t think he was going to get picked and he totally tripped.”
Carey Gets Candid About His Mental Health
While The Price Is Right players may need the help of substances to get them through being in front of a huge studio audience, Drew Carey recently opened up about his own mental health struggles over the years, and what helped him get through those dark times.
Continuing the tradition of Bob Barker’s words before signing off, about spaying and neutering pets, Carey added his own spin at the end, reminding viewers: “Take care of yourself, especially your mental health. It’s important, and I love you!”
Just like downing some liquid courage before getting in front of The Price Is Right studio audience, Drew Carey was recently candid about it all.
He said: “I went through a rough couple of years, and I needed to put my mental health first. It was such a help for me to do that and not succumb to sadness or grief. My therapist and my doctor helped me find tools to not go completely under…You can go into an addiction of feeling depressed and not knowing how to get out.”
Luckily for Carey, he seems to be in a much better mental space these days, and he does his part to pass that positivity along.
